Thought Ake was actually the best of the City CB's at the World Cup, looks composed and seems to have really ingested the information that Pep & team have been throwing at him. I'd start him over Laporte as well tbh.
i disagree, i think Ake was excellent last night, and i think Akanji and Laporte were poor and created all the defensive pressure. We could do with a dedicated LB though, wont deny thatSurprised at the comments here if I'm being honest. As I said in the PGT, he looked lost positionally I thought. Every dangerous attack came down our left side and my biggest takeaway from the game last night was just how badly we need a left back.
Ruben has been studied by the other teams and his weakness is found. It happens to many players transferred from outside PL. First season or half season, all good. Then one PL team finds your weak spot and everyone knows. We really are blessed at the middle of the back line.
Rotation is working really well and everyone is getting plenty of game time.
Ruben is the man who’s under real pressure as his lack of form is becoming increasingly obvious- what happened to the former Player Of The Year I have no idea- since he split with his girlfriend over a year ago , he has been a shadow of his former self.
