I am loving Ake playing. He performs so well . Week in week out - I cannot remember any other defenders that have managed to keep Saka practically invisible for a full match. He’s got a great mentality too and seems to be the guy everyone loves in the dressing room - keeps morale high. Exactly the attitude you want in a player (yes Joao). The only problem is that with him playing there isn’t much creativity from the full-backs (yes he scored) but Cancelo brings another dimension to our attack - but then again he is defensively suspect and clearly has attitude issues. So personally I wouldn’t drop Ake.

Give him till end of season on left back and he will be much better.Defensively he is great offensive he looks afraid to go a lot forward but he can improve than.
And than you have left back who can defend and attack.

Just watching the highlights of last night's game during the under 18's match. Ake's goal really was a lovely finish. First time shit, didn't think to pass, just shoot. Great goal to cap a fine performance.

Been our best defender this season and is slowly starting to make himself undroppable.

He also seems like the nicest guy in football and you can tell he's genuinely loved by the whole squad.

Really started coming into his own last season and he's been excellent so far this year. Keep it up, Nathan. What a finish for the goal as well. Reminded me of Yaya against Chelsea all those years ago.

Not sure if it’s necessarily a good thing that he’s now one of the first names on the team sheet.

Where would we be without him? Put him back on the left and for the love of god play Laporte or Dias in the center...

He and Haaland have been consistent throughout what they have been doing. If PoTS was done today we would probably come second behind Haaland

Love seeing our best 'option' at left back being played as a centre half, while two world class alternatives get splinters.

Tries his bollocks off,we’ve always loved that as city fans, but that was mainly when we were in lower leagues than the Prem, when we loved players who tried

That is the main thing I can't work out, why Laporte isn't playing every single minute at the moment, with Dias being thrown in the minute he's at 80% fit

MoM against the league leaders at LB, shut out Saka and even scored the winning goal, Cancelo leaves so we don't have any other options at that position ( Gomez is not trusted), surely that means he's going to start there against Spurs ? Nah let's play an 18 year old who's never played there before and put Ake at CB, that makes far more sense.
