There is a god Barry's gone!!!
Will with the 6 Nations starting up this weekend and England being the bookies favourites cant see it to be honest who will end up winning the 6 Nations this season?

Ireland are a team in transition Paul O Connell out and Brain O Driscoll in maybe his last 6 Nations are the old gaurd but my god there are some good players waiting in the wings to take over. Craig Kilroy looks like one to watch in this 6 Nations. I have taken the 20/1 on offer for him to be top try scorer of the tournament. So this Ireland team has a fresh feel to it and it was calling out for it for some time.

This weekends game against the Welsh is always my highlight Big Gaz it should be a cracker. Wales like Ireland like to play a open game of rugby and this is were we will see it at the weekend. Always a close game and whoever wins this game will have every chance of winning the Grand Slam in my opinion. The French as always are hit and miss. When on form they can hammer any team with ease. As for the Scots and Italians its always a battle and both teams are getting better. As for England the pressure is on with the favourites tag and the big question is can they handle that pressure and win it?

My bets Ireland to win 6 nations 7/2
Craig Kilroy top try scorer 20/1

Only England and France have the depth of squad to win the tournament.

Wales and Ireland have big performances in them but not 5 times in a row.

Scotland and Italy bringing up the rear.

Good to see Henry Thomas back in the England set up.

Ireland have squad depth big time in the backs and the back rows. Sadly our front row might well be a bit of a weak point at the hooker and props the rest I wouldnt worry too much about.
Look at the Irish teams in the Heikien Cup how many titles have they won in the last 6 years??? A hell of a lot. Being Irish tinted glasses maybe but Ireland team this weekend isnt lacking much. Yes Tommy Bowe is injured but he might find it hard to get back into the team. Keith Earls on the bench for the weekend we have a dynamic team building for the future. This weekends game with Wales will be a classic.

England will do there usual. IF England open up against Ireland and Wales they may well find themselfs under extreme pressure and will come up short in my opinion against both teams.

ireland to win!?!?

Talking about heart over head.

Maybe but Ireland in rugby isnt the Ireland of football we are more than capable of winning the 6 Nations. Hell look at the record of the Irish teams in the Heineken Cup 5 of the last 7 have been Irish winners so they have the players to do extremely well in the 6 Nations. Get quick good ball to our back line and we will be a danger to any team.

England wont win in Ireland or Wales this season. No fucking chance of England winning the championship. Ireland if they beat Wales will have a great chance as they play England and France at home going to Scotland and Italy away in the other games its got to be a great chance for Ireland this year as long as they beat Wales in the first game that is.

If England take the confidence forward of smashing the All Blacks we will be favorites.

As ever the Celtic nations will raise there games against us and make it tough, but thats to our advantage as we will need to be tested

Nice one Leighton me old mucker, I was going to start this tomorrow when i was in a better mood haha, hope you are well and the black stuff is flowing freely.
Well I'm hoping for a good 6 nations especially with a lions tour coming up in the summer, so theres lot at stake even on an individual level. At the moment I can not decide between France, Ireland or England, sadly my boys will be bit players and the team who will soil it for one of the three I mentioned. Lack of depth is our problem,so if the dragon does't roar this year we will still teach you heathen how to sing ;-)

I dont know Gaz mate. Write the Welsh off at your peril has always been my motto even a poor Welsh team is a handful at home. Also there is always players that break into each team out of the blue and do wonders. I am shitting this weekends game but as usual Ireland always do well in Wales and Wales does well here in Ireland. Looking forward to it big time.

No grand slam is the standout bet.

England will probably win it on points difference by kicking lots of penalties and boring the opposition to death.

Only because the Celtic League is a joke so you guys can rest up for Heineken Cup and can afford players like Rocky Elsom that English clubs can't because of salary caps, clubs like Tigers would go back to dominating Europe if it wasn't for the salary cap, English clubs are ruined by it, tis the only reason the French and Irish have been strong.

It'll be close, if England can carryover a fraction of that NZ performance they'll dick everyone, but we won't :(. Tuilagi is a big miss for the Scotland game but he shouldn't be out for too much longer. Hope 12trees is given the nod ahead of Flood or Farrell at inside centre.

Anyone would think he is talking about the All Blacks the way he is going on.
One 6 nations crown in its 12 year history and looking a far worse team than they used to and it sounds like they will walk it according to leighton
Its not green tinted its full on green head beams

He's always been the same, be it with Irish players (Dunne, Oiirland and Given) or Irish rugby. I admire his patriotism but he is fucking clueless due to it.

The problem with the Irish rugby team is that they're a bunch of cheating twats. Never seen a team at any level who lie all over the ball as much as the Irish do, ruins any of their games for me as I just get wound up.

Just be glad you don't go on the racing thread - we get it every day.
If anyone fancies a flutter,the latest prices to top the table are;

England 2/1
France 2/1
Ireland 9/2
Wales 5/1
Scotland 40/1
Italy 500/1.

If he's so sure he should go evens with me then for £50 who finishes higher in the table. Ireland or England.

Ask him if he fancies putting his money where his mouth is.
Much as it pains me to say it,I fancy France if they turn up with the right attitude, which is always a big if with them.

Can't see them beating us at Twickers though, can you?

They'll certainly be up for it - it's like their derby match,as there's no one they would rather beat.
I know a few French lads, and they would all rather les bleus beat us than the All Blacks!
They have a decent mix of experience and some promising younger players, but it's as much down to temperament with them as it is ability.
I really wouldn't like to bet heavily either way on the Twickers match.
