6 Nations 2013

Gaz unlucky lad. We were good first half dropped off second half but held on well and tackled well. Wales played well in the second half do that from the start and kick on and I still think they will get a few wins never write off the Welsh is my motto and I will stand by it alone just for the second half. BOD as usual is some player 34 out most of the season and he comes back with a game like that when he retires I would love to see Ireland retire his jersey but sadly I can never see that ever happening the greatest player I have ever seen play for Ireland both going forward and in defence.

Ideal game to start the 6N for England. Tough, sure, but very winnable.

Credit to the Scots who had much more zip with their back 3 and half-backs than usual, and it was good to see from a Lions perspective to see Gray, Beattie and in particular Kelly Brown put in very good performances.

For England it was far from perfect, but after a few months apart, it was a good start. Running lines were decent, collisions were aggressive in attack and defence, and there were numerous breaks and powerful carries.

Twelvetrees on debut showed what England can hope to see over the next few years - strong in the tackle, an eye for a break, a nice pass, and most importantly, a good rugby brain.

Barritt is a monster of a player for England, and his worth cannot be stated enough in defence, leadership and as a focal point of first phase attacks, but if (let's not get too carried away on the back of an England Scotland debut) Twelvetrees progresses, what a mouth-watering partnership with Tuilagi we will have. Brilliant for Lancaster to have such a tough decision for the Ireland game in the centres. That's what we need - competition for places.

The subs were another bonus - Haskell, Lawes and Vunipola were all very dynamic and gave the team a boost.

Good start, but that's what we should be expecting now.

Realistically only two teams now capable of winning the slam; with England in Cardiff for the last match I can't see us doing it. I was made up to see France lose but I still reckon they are favourites for the championship, especially with Siant-Andre in charge. Roll on the Paddy's next week...

The French favourites to win the championship??? Really???? They have to come to Dublin and next weekend they have the Welsh who will take a lot out of the Ireland game going into the French game. I dont know but if Ireland beat England next Sunday it should set Ireland up for the Grand Slam with games away to Scotland and Italy with the French at home I will say it again Ireland have every chance when it comes to winning the Slam / Title.

Am glad i never gave you any grief on here leighton
Great win for ireland,well played.

I backed Ireland to win today,as Wales are a shadow of their former glories, and that first half performance from the Welsh was an error-strewn nightmare.
Ireland won't find it so easy against better organised English and French sides.

I agree with the french mate
I certainly wouldnt be backing england to beat the irish next week
Good that means I'm on to a winner then.

-- Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:46 pm --
