6 Nations 2013

Well,it wasn't pretty but England were simply more professional and deserved their win.
The Irish handling was shocking, even allowing for the conditions, and they didn't make early possession and territorial advantage count.
Ronan O'Gara should call it a day - he treated the ball like a hot potato, couldn't pick a pass, and his kicking was wayward.
Ireland lacked width and pace in attack, even with numerical advantage, and both teams looked devoid of ideas, although playing free-flowing rugby on a sodden pitch that was cutting up badly was always a tough ask.
Hard to see anyone stopping an English grand slam now.

I now know how Big Gaz feels. Too many handling errors from Ireland in tricky conditions. England done the usual. Took the penaltys well. Ireland losing both Zebo and Sexton in the first half was a bitter blow to take. Earls did ok just didnt look like getting a try. The team is getting slaughter for that preformance and rightly so. They should of done a hell of a lot better. I take nothing away from England done the usual kicked well over powered Ireland and quick around the breaking ball and pick up cheap penalties to win them the game.

Gutted as it was there for Ireland after the win in Wales. Wales will do what Wales do best and in a open game with ball in hand Wales still look as dangerous as ever. They wont want England and Ireland to win in Cardiff and hopefully Wales beat England and who knows who will win the 6 Nations this year.

Zebo out with a broken bone in his foot out for 10 weeks and Sexton a doubt for the next game with a hamstring injury.
Sore in defeat as usual. You'd have thought with all the practice you get that you'd be better at it.

Give it a year and he'll be tipping Ireland for World Cup glory.

I will always have faith in Ireland doing well be it in a 6 Nations or at a World Cup. Look at club rugby ala in European rugby Ireland are winning titles and titles time and again. So why wouldnt I not think that Ireland could do well at International level. 6 Nations anyone from 4 teams every year has a chance of winning it no matter what we all say and think if you talk to French , English , Welsh or Irish people they would all make a strong point to say that there team will win the title.

6-0 at half time was a joke. Kidney's job will be on the line when it comes to the end of 6 Nations no matter what happens. I think Connor O Shea might be the man to take over if it is Kidneys last 6 Nations or the backs coach Kiss could well step up to take over. It was so poor to see that again.

Granted what Healy did was a disgraceful thing and 1 thing that should never be seen on a rugby match. Looking at that and a spear tackle its not a nice thing to see that isnt on at all. Dirty play like that should see them getting 3 to 4 games ban.

It's statements like "England have absolutely no chance of winning the Grand Slam as they will not beat Wales or Ireland away from home" that we find laughable, rather than your patriotism/optimism of Ireland.

Well I might well be right by the end of the 6 Nations. I know thats the worst I have seen of Ireland at home in a international for a long long time. Not do the basics right it was a shocking preformance in difficult conditions for both teams yet England didnt do many handling errors. England took to the conditions well and done the basics well compared to Ireland and deserved there win.

Yes we did and boy did we celebrate in Dublin....You can only beat whats put in front of you and we did that, not a great game but who cares, winning ugly is all part of the game..No other team can win the slam so its up to England now to prove how good they are.. im still pissed by the way... ;-))

England still looking good for the Slam.

Not sure France are going to win all 5 though.....
Bollocks England have no chance Ireland are going to pick up the grand slam as. We will never beat them in at there place NEVER

Average age of under 25 with the oldest player in the squad yesterday 29!

Huge mental test in Ireland passed and France gave us a real, physical test yesterday yet we stood up both mentally and physically.

Lancaster is doing an absolutely fantastic job and huge credit to him and his team.

The 6 nations this year is a cracker and it would appear that the strengths of Southern hemisphere teams has suddenly been taken on board by all the sides with so much more pace being injected in to the game, especially at the play of the ball.

Only downside for me yesterday was a slightly whistle happy Joubert, especially around the scrum but all in all, a great performance which also saw us get a few favoured decisions.

Ireland lost again?

No, you must be incorrect. Leighton says they are very good. They wouldn't lose to Scotland.

i heard on the radio on the way home that Scotland had won their second match in a row for the first time in thirteen years

i thought that can't be true at all

they were playing Ireland, and Ireland never lose as they are the bestest team in the competition

It's going to be a comeback akin to City last season this. Can't wait to see all those joyful Paddys when Ireland lift the Championship.
how many points are they off the top?
if it's less than five i can definitely see them doing it
