Looked more determined in his cameo the other day. I thought he was a bit shy in the first half against Brentford.
I mentioned it with a few of the squad players the other night that it's unfair to judge them on a much changed team in the league cup. Our structure and system is built for Haaland really - he's the focal point. Without him it's a bit narrow with no real outlet so it was hard to anyone to truly impose themselves.
And when you have so many players with a lack of game time on the pitch you inevitably get some rusty performances or people trying a bit too hard.
As someone else said, I think Pep is more interested in seeing someone keep it simple and retain the ball than doing something exceptional. He looked a much better player coming into a stronger team on Saturday.
