I heard the Aldgate/Liverpool street bomb. Dismissed it as an empty lorry going over a pot hole at the time. BBC and Sky websites reporting it as an electrical fault. Locked in our offices for hours after.
Once let out everyone just piled into the pub. Despite what had happened it was a great atmosphere. Nothing like a disaster to bring everyone together
I did get a seat in the tube the next morning though. Winner

Just shows how buried this event is. Nothing much on the tv, nothing much in the papers and four replies in here. It's almost an afterthought in this country.

Can’t believe it was 14 years ago.
My heart goes out to all those families who were ripped apart by it.
Personally I hate the word disaster. This wasn’t a disaster it was pre meditated murder.
Astonishing that there is virtually no mention in the MSM.

There is something to be said for not glorifying ( in terrorist eyes) 7/7 through a specific high profile act of remembrance lest we inadvertently inspire future saddos. They crave the lasting global news coverage the modern media provides.

Through my union ties I have made friends with staff involved on that fateful day. Some of their experiences are truly harrowing.
