I have seen a few posts in this thread along the lines of "stupid decision". To those people let me ask you this...

If it was stupid then you are asserting this was done without a great deal of thought/on a whim due to Pep possibly seeing his arse? Could it not be Pep wanted to see the season out then clean house but has been left with no alternative than to act now due to issues getting so bad they threaten to derail our season and squad harmony?

My take is Pep thought he could manage us through to the end of the season but Cancelo has lost the plot and left him with absolutely no choice but to get him out asap. There were probably warnings about Cancelo's behaviour earlier but he has, in a very short time, gone nuclear to the point it was intolerable for him to stay.

I understand some people not happy he has gone to Bayern with no fee but equally that should tell you that it was very serious and such considerations were very very much secondary. The primary issue was getting him the hell out and quick, nevermind to who and for how much!
Well said and I question anyone that doubts this was a decision made in the clubs best interests.

There is a weird fan boy obsession with players creeping in, the only thing we should all care about is the best interests of Manchester City FC.

Whats stupid is saying its stupid, you only have to look at what's happened to us kver the last 10 years , we have the best owners and manager in the world and in the main have also played the best football, some decisions have not worked but in no shape or form have they been stupid..
This is not football manager or fifa smh

I

What did you want City to do , let him get away with his bad behaviour towards the manager. Good riddance to him
Bad behaviour towards manager? So bench him to next 5-7 games or fine him?!! Sending him out without a replacement in middle of season for free when we are short of fullbacks is beyond insane

Obviously he had to go and he did play well for us but i can't say we will miss him much, he's clearly a brilliant attacking full back but hes a liability at the back, ball watching, weak in the tackle, doesn't understand game management when were trying to protect the lead and hes trying to go on slalom runs or trying a stupid pass that leaves us exposed.

Ake may not be as good as him attacking wise, but I trust him to do a job there every time over him.

And in all that time he is making trouble with other players er like he already has been.

I guess the saying I'll trust Pep over a random bluemoon poster anyday could never be more true and I fucking hate that saying.

Isn't that what started his behaviour being benched? I think he'd of just caused more chaos and it'd of got to a point were he'd no longer be turning up to train.

Seeing him assist on the tv last night was akin to seeing your ex on a date the day after you dumped her.
Even though you know it was the right thing to do.

However In about 4 weeks you realised why you binned her off and you don’t give a shit.
