He was having a very good season before coming to this dysfunctional City side. I’m giving him at least a season’s leeway.
 
He gave away a silly free kick shortly before the goal fouling a man after he’d played the ball and the pass was being dealt with easily

Frustrating
 
Apart from 15 minutes v Newcastle, I’ve not seen anything from Marmoush to convince me that he has not been another expensive average player.
Don’t know where he even plays or where he will fit in as a regular, don’t see any goal threat, pace or strength. Yet!
 
our current set up and slow attacking play will not suit Haaland, Marmoush, wingers or anyone really vs teams sitting deep and reducing space. urgency needs to be installed into the side, build play needs to be quick and we need to start pressing again.

its over that we need to look for ways to play where we can accommodate players who doesnt want or cant press or work hard.

we gradually became worse and worse in pressing and off the ball workrate. Rodri had to cover instead of 3 players last season because it got so much worse since the treble season to last season.

Spot on. The highlights of marmoush at Frankfurt showed him breaking into lots of space and being quick and deadly.

I mentioned in his thread, we never play like that or have that space. Now we have actually done it v chelsea ans newcastle ans he looked great. But 90% of the time we play slow and there’s no room for him to display his attributes.

No worse than Foden and Bernardo and surely if we are changing from certain players the new ones deserve a regular chance to cement themselves in the team? Foden should be on the for sale list at anything over £100m imo, I think he needs a new challenge to ignite himself again.
 
Incredible to pay this money and he can't get in to a team at its worst . Who is making the decisions.

he's play 9 games for us he's been available for 6 prem games started 5 and came on for 1 games he started 1 game in the champions league and 1 game in the fa cup but sure he can't get in the team

Says more about Pep than him. He’d prefer to play Bernardo in the worst form of his career with zero creativity as opposed to a player whose whole game is based on attacking and making things happen.

The runs he’s making are just being ignored. It’s ridiculous. Could’ve had more scoring opportunities if we would just play balls in behind
 
Feel for him, absolutely flying for his last club and comes to our shit show. I've got faith in him coming good, but we simply have to change to make it happen. Messi would bloody struggle in our current set up

This is it in a nutshell. Current style and setup does not suit the players we are bringing in. We do need to now change tact and not only bring back the ability to win the 1v1 duals but press as a whole unit and then play at a faster quicker pace.

The game in the PL has now evolved from not knowing how to combat Pep's style, to one that counters and attacks fast.

But Pep is a master of adaptation and will be working on how to bring a new style of play but one that still allows possession to be kept.

I am not overly concerned about how this season has gone, I accepted it very early on knowing that the current players that won the CL and 4 in a row era has come to a end - it happens and these legends that provided the trophies have hit that brick wall

I am looking forward to seeing how we will setup and I believe that the fifa club world cup, may be the start of when we see it playing out. Next season we may not win the title but it will be about Pep cementing in the new style and getting the players buying into the system whilst challenging.
 
Baffling he was left on the bench for Forest. We need goals and assists and this guy can provide them. Frustrating he wasn’t starting
