When he scores 52 in a season and we win another treble in that season, then we'll talk.

All we've seen so far is that he has had a handful of decent games
I think you're mistaking the words footballer for goalscorer.

Haaland despite missing quite a lot of chances this year is the world's best goalscorer. Marmoush not close.

However Haaland offers little else. Doesn't hold it up particularly well for a big guy. His passing is so so. Pressing half hearted etc.

Playing with Haaland often feels like we are playing with 10. Not so with Omar, who seems to create more space for himself and others.

Goal of the season contender that, shame he can't score from 12 yards : -)

Great goal and a good game from him. Lets see if he can put a shift in away from the Etihad next.

reminds me so much of Alvarez-dynamic, great shot on him but awful first touch back to goal. But he's joyous to watch.

I bet if he was doing it for the dippers youd be singing his praises tho wouldnt you

Why would I?

I think he's doing well by the way, considering the team he's walked into compared to where we were...but for people to suggest he's better for us than treble winner and record breaker Haaland is ridiculous

Haaland isn't a problem, not is Marmoush a solution to it. They'll both prosper when we're not a team of ageing players in decline.

Haaland gets more assists then he's given credit for. In his first season, he was one behind his countryman at arsenal, the one people were creaming over saying he's a great playmaker.

"Footballer" outside of the literal definition is pretty ambiguous anyway when talking about different abilities. People only wanna apply it to people who look easy on the eye. All players have their own attributes. Haaland's attributes as a goalscorer are probably the best in the world. Marmoush isn't the best at anything.

He's only a better footballer if you get selective on the attributes you wish to compare. You can say his passing and skill offer a team "more"...more what? Not goals, the most important part of football. So, what exactly?

As I say, this "footballer" nonsense is pie in the sky stuff when you start being selective about which attributes you include and omit to rate who is a good "footballer". Haaland is probably the best goalscorer in the world, therefore nobody is better at that. Unless part of your skill set is among the very very best in the world, like Haaland's is, then you're not a better footballer than Haaland, even if you can dribble around a cone more gracefully.

By your definition, goalscoring isn't that important in what defines a good footballer.

11 G/A in 21 games so far (8 goals, 3 assists). Across 50 games, that's 19 goals and 7 assists.

When he's starting regularly and settled in those numbers will improve. 20 goals and 10 assists is roughly what Alvarez was giving us when he left. We sold him for £80m and bought Marmoush for £60m. Nice business.

We're asking for a goalscoring wide forward and, well, Marmoush is it. If we can get Foden settled on the right side again and he can notch 12-15 goals next season, if Haaland can top 30-35 again, and if Marmoush can reach 15-20, then that's 50% of our quota from three players.
