I agree in most situations it's probably going to be him or doku, although I do believe they can both play behind haaland too.

Im not sure Pep needs to stop playing marmoush there though, he has to find an option from somewhere for when Haaland isn't on the pitch. marmoush was bought to be that option, we dont really have anybody else better suited to it in the squad so hes kind of got to keep playing him there as it needs to work as we dont have the squad space to bring in anybody else to fill it and we dont have the minutes available to accommodate another player who can play the 9 and slot in behind

Don't get your desire to see marmoush infront of Ait-nouri on the left though, Doku has been the standout player and more than justified his game time.
 
He’s an adaptable baller, but like all forwards, if you can’t get him the ball, he might as well be at home with his feet up, watching the game like us!

I expect 20 goals from him next season.

Foden would be a better false 9 than Marmoush.

Im not saying Doku is playing bad, but just rotate them?

Every time both play, then Marmoush has to go f9.

Why not rest Doku, and let Marmoush take a crack at his best position?

He hasn't played there for all the 4 games, that's kind of ridiculous.

Im just hoping this isn't Peps plan, to have Marmoush be just the f9 backup.

We got him the ball once in the box and his first touch was shite. Fine margins make a big difference in knockout games
 
I think Nico O Reilly is a more like for like sub for Haaland.

He has played as a striker before as well, he is built for it clearly.

Not sure why not?

Doku was clearly in good form so wasn't necessary but Marmoush ahead of Ait Nouri does make sense as a tactic, if Ait Nouri is asked to overlap rather than invert. Marmoush is better cutting in from the left and shooting

Never once said he was shit. Just baffled that we paid big money for someone after Alvarez left who clearly can’t play as a main striker when Haaland is out

I’ll concede no such thing. He’s not a Haaland type striker, but can definitely play as a main striker for us.

He doesn’t lead the line in the slightest or look comfortable there. It’s not his fault that’s why i’m saying it was a strange signing.He’ll have to play there at times but it’s more like back to the false 9. He might absolutely tear it up coming in from the left, time will tell but that’s clearly where he’s best suited.

When he plays as the 9, Pep gives him the charge to pull the CBs around, yo either create space for himself (because they do t follow him) or others (because they do!).

He is not a target man striker, he’s more of the Mbappe/Vini Jr European striker, who is just as comfortable pulling wide as he is going over the top. However, he’s probably not going to score too many headers from crosses, if you know what I mean.

We don’t have a starter 11. It’s a squad game now and we’ve spent too much money to only start the same 11 most games

In the past years we’ve nearly always had a “strongest” team. You can’t do that with this current set of players. I haven’t a clue who our starting wingers are or who is our number 10.

Our team isn’t as strong as say the treble season though. Other than one or two players every position is up for grabs.

It makes sense currently as our squad is enormous, we’ll need to rotate, otherwise what’s the point in the big squad? And how do you keep everyone happy

Personally think foden is our best 10
