7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

Delighted he`s back, top player
I'm not, he was sleeping on the offside that deleted Haalands goal. Terrible awareness in this game. Hope he learns from it. One thing is other forwards not scoring, another thing are causing Haaland goals ruled off for sloppyness. That's next level.

Do we play for Haaland ? Without this run Haaland doesn’t even score . What are you talking about? It happens finished. If you are so mad about it - why doesn’t Haaland create for himself then ?
Offsides happen. Maybe Marmoush still thinks he is playing in the Bundesliga where players don’t hesitate to pass instead for Manchester city who will calmly pass the ball in the 93 minute as if they were leading 3-0.

I legitimately read this shit every week
„ Haaland not getting enough passes , this guys can’t even pass him the ball“
Who do you think is actually making it happen for him to score? Maybe he can create more for himself? It’s not like he is perfect and doesn’t have flaws.

„ destroying haaland’s goals „ as if he runs through a defense and then Marmoush did a Nani and stole the ball of him .

Yes we need other players to step up and score, we won't win trophies with only Haaland scoring, Doku, Savinho and Bobb don't look like scoring 5 league goals combined.
Agree . When you look at our wingers they really are poor and mid table quality and that reflects the goals . Need to start getting rid but giving them new contracts is saying we are ok with mediocrity.

I like Marmoush and want him back in the team but he needs to work on his awareness of being offside, feels like the flags up for him a lot. Great that he’s making those runs and creating the chances but it’s fuck all help if he’s off

Would help if players released the ball. We are so fucking slow. Seems like only De Bruyne knew how to play a pass early and get people like Haaland and Marmoush into space

Au contraire - had it at the weekend from both our lovely Rag and Dipper friends. People aren't all blind. Difficult for any football watcher not to see how dreadful Savinho was on Sunday.
And I have heard many tell of how good Doku and Bobb are.
We are far harder on our own...increasingly so, IMO.

Sometimes, sometimes not, some like to live in hope, think of the personal aspect of not upsetting a player, think that it's treacherous not to just blindly get on board etc etc. Then there's the great big coverall excuse note - "Pep picks him so!!" OK, well that's admittedly difficult to argue against - but on the evidence?? The 3 players under the spotlight of criticism Savinho, Doku, Bobb, clearly have attributes - would be churlish not to see that and they wouldn't be here if they didn't, Bobb is the better bet imo - but they are way too one dimensional, inconsistent and detract from the team as a whole if they're not firing (again Bobb less so) - which far too often they aren't. Sure they'll have a decent game once in a while - but then drift back to being detrimental to how we play. In the treble side and build up to it - if a player had a poor game - in reality it just wasn't quite as good as the last outing - average for them - if some in this team fall below their capability - they stink the game out and are more difficult to carry. It's all about levels we're accepting now - in the 90s we'd have grabbed peoples hands off for these players - but if we're hoping to get back to the pinnacle - never in a million years with them. All about expectations.

Oops - just seen this is in the Marmoush thread - you dragged me in ;-)

Well I hope we see Marmoush and Cherki on Wednesday.

Hopefully Marmoush kicks on. One thing he will add is goals but the jury is still very much out on him for me from what i’ve seen so far. He’s got attributes there’s no doubt about that but so have the other 3. What’s astounded me about him so far is for a 26 year old playing at the level he is to consistently have such a poor first touch. As usual though when a player has been out injured for a while they become our next great hope!

Jury still out and like most of our recent transfers might take sometime to hit the ground running and play to his best consistently.

He has 8 goals and 3 assists in 28 games and I think been unavailable for 7 games through injury since joining us.

Way too early to write him off as being a regular in a more competitive more consistent City side but time waits for no one.

he has to find a way to gel with EH and link up with the midfield more effectively otherwise his game time and influence on positive results will be limited.

I contend that no fans of other teams believe that about our wingers.
When teans turned up against sane sterling and Mahrez they shit it and knew they where in a game but you have to admit what we have atm is not a patch on them players .

Has he scored a away goal yet? Or just at the Etihad. Right now he's nowhere near 'Alvarez'

I think the lack of minutes he has gotten since the international break tells you something.

We desperately needed a goal on Sunday, and he wasn't brought on until the 82nd minute or so. We were up 2-0 at Villareal and he didn't come on until the 86th. He wasn't even warming up vs Everton.

A player we are paying that much and not getting these kinds of chances should tell everyone something about what the club think of him.

I don't know why that is. But I just can't see him get the minutes especially with where we are right now.

The fact Marmoush is allegedly on £295k when he was on around £25k per week at Frankfurt is absolutely criminal for a player who is at best a back up player. He must have the best agent in world football getting that hike in wages.

To justify that sort of wage we need him to step up and make himself one of the first names on the team sheet. He like many of our recent signings need to pull their finger out.

I’m a bit nervous his knee injury is a bit more complicated than first thought. Suspected bad injury then not having surgery always makes me worried it will give way down the line.
