Sometimes, sometimes not, some like to live in hope, think of the personal aspect of not upsetting a player, think that it's treacherous not to just blindly get on board etc etc. Then there's the great big coverall excuse note - "Pep picks him so!!" OK, well that's admittedly difficult to argue against - but on the evidence?? The 3 players under the spotlight of criticism Savinho, Doku, Bobb, clearly have attributes - would be churlish not to see that and they wouldn't be here if they didn't, Bobb is the better bet imo - but they are way too one dimensional, inconsistent and detract from the team as a whole if they're not firing (again Bobb less so) - which far too often they aren't. Sure they'll have a decent game once in a while - but then drift back to being detrimental to how we play. In the treble side and build up to it - if a player had a poor game - in reality it just wasn't quite as good as the last outing - average for them - if some in this team fall below their capability - they stink the game out and are more difficult to carry. It's all about levels we're accepting now - in the 90s we'd have grabbed peoples hands off for these players - but if we're hoping to get back to the pinnacle - never in a million years with them. All about expectations.
Oops - just seen this is in the Marmoush thread - you dragged me in ;-)
