He looks shot.

Needs an extended rest but Pep won't do it.

His 1st touch let's the team down.

I don't think he looks shot. His effort and work rate is outstanding. One of if not the best in the team . Its why he started over sane.

However, It's his natural footballing ability that concerns me.

I get the impression he's very high maintenance in regard to coaching and is it a coincidence his form has dropped off a cliff with arteta leaving?

If he was dropped he could struggle with confidence full stop.

Personally, as petulant as Sane may be, I'd much rather take a punt on him going forward. The kid is going to be world class in 2/3 years.

Sterling is just slightly off at the moment, though to some extent that is understandable given how much football he’s played and the reliance on him this season.

Infuriating as his performances have been in the final third, his effort and his willingness to work are hugely overlooked.

Sane’s stats don’t mean anything. Sterling has 20 goals in 30 appearances this season, do those stats show inconsistency?

No he’s been consistently shit for 3 months.

His first touch is worse than mine and I’m a fat bald **** who only plays 5 a side with his mates.

I’m being genuine there, it bounces off him and he doesn’t look like he can run with it.

He looks worse the more he plays, and he never is subbed off. Pep must see what we can. No first touch or easy control then he does his little dance before loosing it to the first defender. That or backward or sideways passes, an offside tap in. Yes I know he has 20 goals but now I'm wondering if he will ever just do the basics ever again. Please don't offer him a crazy new contract ,nobody else will be buying him on the back of the last couple of months .

Not been right since the Gomez incident

It started at Norwich away two full months before the Gomez incident.

He’s had a very poor season outside his goal scoring. His general play has been abject. This isn’t form. Form is the last half a dozen games.

There were plenty of games in the first few months of the season where he scored yet was total dross outside the goal. Yet people are claiming he was “immense in the first half of the season”. And it started well before the Gomez incident.

He was that bad at Norwich everyone was saying he deserved to be dropped against Watford and after the 8-0 saying he didn’t need to be back in the team. He came back and was total dross again at Everton (despite scoring)

He has been like this all season.

I know what you are saying and for me, he should be benched but if his confidence is low, sending him off for a hol, may further knock his confidence. Pep has a challenge with Sterling atm
