Hope he gets that miss out of his head and doesn't let it weigh him down. We need to back him now more than ever because he's still one of the best players in Europe and we are lucky to have him.
Totally agree Pab. It's a shame though that a similar olive branch isn't being cast elsewhere. Not a dig at you btw

Its a simple left foot tap in,but hes twisted his body so he can take it with his right foot thats given him the angle to get underneath it,same as the early chance first half when he should of crossed with his left ,but underhit it with his right
Professional players who are not both-footed. Even when I was like 11 I told myself to learn to play with my weaker left foot. In fact I could shoot better with my left than right later. That‘s the only thing that‘s weak in football too many one-footed players.

There are more where that came from of supposed top class players missing these kind of chances. Now make no mistake that was inexcusable last night and given the circumstances even more shocking. He will be replaying that in his mind until the the next game and despite an otherwise good personal season this will be all everyone will remember about it.

But these kinds of posts claiming he is not a big game player, isn't world class or worse sane would be preferred are just laughable. It's like some have short memories and forgotten it was sterling(along with a few) who mainly stepped up and played a key role towards the business end of the 'fourmidables' season when sane run out of favour and de bruyne was mostly injured.

Or that he has been one of the few standout performers including yesterday prior to his miss in these knockout games where the team has faltered due to both pep overthinking and getting in the teams' way as well as the defence going to crap. Especially in the tottenham and monaco ties where he scored or assisted 5 of the 10 goals but the team still got knocked out because the defence managed to concede 10.

I thought he had moved on and ironed these kind of misses out of his game after the burnley one and how he bounces back from this one like he did that will define the next part of his career as he enters his peak. It can either spur him on and take him to the next level or drain his confidence and have him revert to overthinking every chance he gets going forward. And while I think a brain fart like that is always possible amongst even the best players, the circumstances and frequency of it can have a negative impact on a player, hopefully its the opposite for him as this is already a top class player who can truly help fire the team to many more trophies. All things considered he is the least of the teams worries.

The KDB one is nowhere near easy as that one last night. Also you could make a 10 minute video of Sterling’s horrendous misses. Far from a one off from him.

You could also make a dozen videos of the exceptional play he has demonstrated since he came. The frustrating thing about his miss is that had it fallen on another day he would have buried it, and had it fallen to another player on the pitch they would have scored. This narrative of picking out Sterling's errors, mistakes and misses ignore the quality of his strikes. However many he misses, I'd still have him in the starters. He can score a hat trick but some people will only clock a miss.

He has had his best season, shi t happens, sergio would have scored but then he is a pure striker with different insticts, gabby could have done better with his lone chance as well, raz won t hide

I agree with most of that but the problem is he tends to miss them when it really matters. The Arsenal cup game whilst obviously not alone he did fuck all apart make the wrong choice in a great position. It was then fairly predictable he’d be on fire against Watford and Norwich. Again last night when it really matters he produced an unbelievably bad miss. He’s a bit like team in that if you look at how many goals we score you’d think why would we need another forward. The amount of games we’ve struggled to score against larked busses this season tells a different story. Flat track bullies is what we’ve become
