He's certainly going through a very bad patch. I like to support our players, particularly in difficult times, but when you compare the attitudes and effort of say Foden and Sterling it's like chalk and cheese. One on £300k/wk and looking for more, the other a small fraction. Does he want to be here?

Hardly daft, this guy is so bad and he has had the opportunity for nearly 2 years to prove people wrong. What has he done to deserve a new contract and more importantly a payrise. The only possible reason he will get an extended contract is to protect an asset to it has value because he certainly is showing no value to this team.
The crux of it, so if the club had any sense, they would sell now. Yeah, we risk making a bit of a cock up and he goes elsewhere and rips it up. If that happens, it will have to be tough shit and at least a few on here can come on and say “I told you so”. However, currently it’s hard to make a case for a dramatic return to form, and a continuation of the shite he is currently serving up seems more likely.

If so then I’ve very much missed his sarcasm.

If it was sarcastic I’ll happily hold my hands up but remind him that sarcasm doesn’t always come across well in the written medium.
It was very much sarcasm.I'm surprised you did miss it given the abhorrent and unfounded comments that have been slung at me and others over the past few weeks. The line was very much over stepped, and no apologies have yet been made.

As for today's performance - woeful, the fella isn't worth a place in the team,he can't even get the basics right and given the length of time this is lasting......the future doesnt look good for him,or us,if he stays here.

Worst 90 minutes from an individual i can remember. Generally can't recall a single good thing he did today.
Cross for the Fernandinho header in the first half.

But he had more of the ball than most and the rest of the time he was unacceptably shit.

He looked like it is preseason game. And it's more bizarre that he wasn't replaced.
The thing is, for £300k a week, and supposedly one of the club captains group, you’d expect him to be leading the team even if he isn’t playing that well himself.
