Just don’t know where it all went wrong for him. He would of once been worth over 100 mill, I doubt West Ham fans would swap him for Lingard nowadays.

You know if he was in Fodens position tonight on his stronger right foot what would happen.....

Writing him off is folly, we do it far too often, me included... his form is rightly being questioned, however, he’ll come again and we’ll again feel stupid for questioning those in the position to judge...

Last night would have been perfect for him to come on against 10 men Villa and rip them apart with his pace. He has gone so far backwards that was not an option.

He doesn't use his pace (which he's got). That's the strange thing. Quite often, he'll be away, you think, Go for it! Then he'll falter, he'll check back, and pass inside, and you think, Why on earth did you do that, Raz?
Hope it comes good for him again, obviously. But I suspect he may ask for a move this summer.

It looks like he has lost Peps trust almost completely. With the way rotation has gone, you would fully expect him to start on Sunday but its a cup final, so I cant see it. Then he will probably sit out against PSG as well. The club cant be offering new £300k pw contracts to players that Pep has little to no trust in for the big games.

Will play against Palace. I presume/pray that Mahrez and Foden start Sunday and against PSG, we simply need our in form players. Cannot afford any more slip ups like Leeds or Chelsea.

I think he needs to get away and clear his head, shame we have the Euros.

I know this doesn't satisfy the forum's need to draw permanent conclusions and thirst for telling our own players to fuck off and be sold, but maybe he's just fucking tired and needs a rest? And maybe we should just let him get that rest without devoting hundreds of posts to gossiping like teenage girls about how he's lost Pep's trust because he didn't come on in a game we'd already won.

He has been the only omnipresent player in this side other than Ederson. KDB has had almost 2 season out injured. Bernardo spent 18 months on the bench after he burnt out in 18/19, Mahrez has only started 50% of games since he arrived, Foden hasn't played until this season so no wonder he's the freshest and Gundogan spent 4 seasons behind David Silva.

Sterling did an absolutely monumental job for the team last year, taking up all of the slack from Sané leaving and Aguero getting injured.

The guy deserves a season out of form more than anyone, and he certainly deserves it without a horde of supporters trying to undermine or erase all the good he did in the past 4 years and demand he gets sold. Not to mention the racist abuse from his own fans both online and in person which he has got, despite some posters' attempts to pretend it didn't happen or wasn't from City fans.

I really hope he gets it together before the end of the season as I can see him sold if not. Winner in champs league final will do raz

Phil has raised the bar, and the question is, can Sterling raise his game sufficient to get the nod in the big games?

It took a long while, but Pep has now decided that Sterling is no longer the shoe in he was, and has no qualms in benching him.

Sterling must surely see that Phil is a much more technically gifted and direct player than himself, and he has to decide, does he stick and try to raise his game and risk being on the bench if he cannot, or twist, hoping pastures new might give him the boost he sorely needs.

He has the infrastructure around him to satisfy the former, so it's its up to him.
