Raheem has been woefully out of form since Southgate dropped him over the Gomez incident in November 2019. The same way, it seems, Bernado has been influenced by the Mendy carry on.
Raheem should not have been on the bench, nevermind being Peps 'secret weapon' to overcome Chelsea. Why not Phil on the left and Gabby in the middle, or Gabby on the left, if Pep wanted Phil in the middle. Both would have had more effect than Raheem.
Whether this would be enough to overcome leaving Fern on the bench, I don't know. But to continue playing Raheem ,who admits himself that he is way off his best form,is absolutely mystifying.

If Raz signs a new deal I'm fine with that but if he isn't willing to do that then move him on in the summer.

True, but he has limited talent. He played above expectations 2/3 seasons ago. We were surprised he could do what he did. Now he looks nowhere near that form. He's exhausted his ability. Time to go. Shouldn't have been anywhere near the starting XI last night. Not good enough, simple as.
He had 3 seasons of getting very good numbers yes last season he played shit but he scored 20 league goals. The rest of his game has evaporated for the goals and i think that's what he wants he wants to be a pure goal scorer on that left hand side. So if he get a striker and get him firing again does it really matter how well he plays if all he is is a goal scorer?

I think it's doing him or us no favours him staying here. His skills are simply not what is needed with the way we set up and play.

So either have to change our style, or he just doesn't fit. With our possession-based approach, we inevitably face parked-buses for 34+ league games per season and he doesn't get to use his strength and speed to burst past defenders, and if he does, then he ends up going nowhere and giving the ball away.

When you at our other attacking players, Gabby, KDB, Foden, Mahrez, Silva, they all have instant control and can ping the ball around like pinball. Sterling cannot do this. His first touch is crap and his ability to retain the ball, not much better. He won't score more than a handul - at best - of poachers goals because he is not a natural poacher either.

But he could do very well for a different side. I am sure he'd get more enjoyment playing and scoring more often. It would be good for him to move on rather than sitting on the bench here and doing fuck all when he does come on.

very hard for me to see who puts down a serious transfer fee and facilitates his wages of above 300K pounds week or possibly even more.

likely to get shafted business wise if we sell him while for a proper replacement they will charge us crazy.
