Depends on whether you consider the Community Shield to be a competitive match or a glorified friendly. If it's the latter then we won 8 matches in a row starting with the last 4 games of last season (including the FA Cup final), and then the first 4 games of this season.

Someone mentioned Keegan's first season as manager but IIRC the most we won was 6 league games in a row.
