Our best addition this season.
Since he was out with Covid, either because he got a rest or lost weight and then built up his fitness, he looks sharper than he has for a long time.David Silva leaving, and Rodri Fernandino back to fitness and form, has allowed him to focus more on that position further up. Whatever the case, this guy was MoM today and for past few matches.
Laporte!! Hahaha
Well said. And remembered. He was poor only when he played in a double pivot without having the licence to bomb forward like it was the case for most of last season, he's always been excellent as a single pivot (like when he replaced Fern in our 14 match winning streak to clinch the league), and as a box to box CM like he's playing now and played there before, for example look at his performance against Barca in his first season just before he got injured when he scored twice in a 3-1 win.
He might've had poor performances before but I would never say he was stealing a living.
Any truth that Barca are willing to take them off our hands, along with Rodri, Zinchenko and Garcia for a combined £5 million, if we give a written guarantee we drop our interest in Messi ??Gundogan is so bad man, can't wait until we get rid. Cancelo, too
I love and share your optimism but patience and slagging players are not comfortable partners here.Hope all the people who slagged him off at the beginning of this thread are choking on their cornflakes right now. They may be a bit more patient in slagging players off in future.
He was not at his best but he was never "stealing a living", that's an insult to the player, the manager and the club. No,he was shocking for a long while, stealing a living.
The criticism was deserved, just as the praise is now.
