He was never wank. He was always a technically gifted, fluid player with the ability to control and run a midfield. As others have pointed out, he played a key role during both Pep's title wins. He was not at either his Dortmund level or his level now (which is even higher) mainly cos he suffered two crippling knee injuries. Physical rehabilitation is only the start of recovering from those. It is a tribute to his courage and tenacity that he fought back and is playing the best football of his life. Dismissing him as wank is lazy in the extreme.He was wank back then, happy to say he’s no longer wank and one of our best players who if he keeps going like this may well be in with a shout of Prem player of the season.
