Not slowing down at all. I wonder what the thoughts are behind the scenes. Txiki and Pep happy to let Gundo run down his contract and follow a new path, Gundo himself wanting a new challenge or perhaps we see a last minute 12mth extension.
With Bellingham likely on the market next summer, can we afford to lose out on him.
Very similar to Merlin. Could have stayed another few yearsSimilar to Gareth Barry in respect that his game is more about timing, speed of thought, positional sense, and very intelligent use of his body and the ball, rather than out and out physicality.
If he can maintain a fitness level, his age should not prevent him playing the same standard for a good while yet.
As for yesterday.....superb....he controlled, dictated and orchestrated like a boss.
Somehow he looks faster? Be briliant if we could tie him to a 1 year extensionNot slowing down at all. I wonder what the thoughts are behind the scenes. hes aging quite well i must say. Playing way better than in his first couple of seasons at the club imo and the numbers back it up.
Never understimate what pep can do with skilled players
Whoosh ...But he did...
He was never hopeless. This was an urban myth that occasionally rears its headHe was hopeless when he arrived, mostly due to rehabiliation and an associated lack of body confidence. However, prior to the injuries he was up there with the very best midfielders in the world.
Our medical/physio team along with the manager and Gundo's obvious will to fight for his career.....have seen him rediscover that level again. Not 32 for a couple of months, this fell can easily give us at least 2 more seasons at the top.
It may well be Bellingham......but hopefully an academy product, maybe McAtee, can then step into his shoes.
I would like to see him kept as a coach within CFG. Definitely has potential as a manager but still an excellent player.
