Started well but got worse and worse. Not great tonight. was crying out to be subbed after about 60-70 minutes, certainly should have come off when he picked up a booking.
The problem was that we had nobody on the bench that can come on and play in the same way as Gundo. Maybe Foden or Mahrez could have been brought on to play on the right and Bernado moved to the centre but he was not having his best game either.
Kalvin-Philips should be an option as a sub in that situation but has not shown enough to be trusted against the likes of Madrid.

Don't disagree it's an area we are lacking strength in but Bernardo was on the pitch and should have been brought central. It's also peps job to consider this beforehand when playing his central midfield options out wide.

Hes still got a big part to play, i wouldn't play him against Everton and about 70 mins in the second leg, there was times when even Kroos just went past him and he couldn't keep up.

Gundo can’t do 90 minutes at the top level anymore. Sad but true.
Makes leaving him on all night in stifling heat, especially after a whack in the chops that clearly affected him, all the weirder tbh
If he would accept a reduced role as an hour player or a closer then extend. But he is still too good and probably too proud for that
But tbf he could play until he’s 40 in Italy, Turkey, the Middle East etc and boss it
