Genuinely love Gundogan and you just cannot overstate his achievements for City. I hope he extends, but at the professional level of conducting things there is probably a good argument why club does not want to make it just too long.

Anyway its not easy to get a world class 8 position player. Actually you have Bellingham as maybe the best promise for that, but hes probably off to Madrid. Who else? I was thinking and recently keeping an eye on the topic and my conclusion is quite sad - similar level of talent and promise for future is Enzo Fernandez. I like Mac Allister, Barella but have them a bit lower for various reasons.

Trouble is its completely unrealistic target, although I am pretty sure Enzo himself would love to join his brother Julian at City. I believe we would be able to turn his back on Chelsea and push for a move, which would help. But, but, but. What price it would need to be, if Chelsea paid 120 mln 6 months ago?:(

Fernandez has done nothing to show he has the talent you claim. He was vastly overrated at the WC......Messi aside,Argentina's best 2 players being MacAllister and Alvarez.

He has gone missing in that Chelsea line up,and really hasn't come anywhere close to earning a move to a club like ours.

Absolutely disagree, you just could not watch him play and end up with such a conclusion. Massive player, easily the best Chelsea player since arrival, yeah it does not mean much alone, but he was very good at World Cup and will be even better in the future. Guy has everything to be an elite level.

He seems to be a player of almost marmite standing......ive heard others big him up for reasons only known to themselves.
Maybe i need to watch more.......but i just dont see a player that's any better than an average Prem midfielder.

Whenever I've watched him he's played as a 4/6, obviously looks steady and comfortable on the ball but for that sort of money you expect a real game changer. Don't think he's had many goals or assists albeit in a struggling team so it's hard to judge. Based on what I've seen Mac Allister would be a better fit for us (I know we're not getting either) however he has the advantage of another year playing in the Prem. It'll be really interesting to see how Chelsea do next season they're a completely unknown quantity. Pochettino has a huge job on his hands.

Yeah, generally agree with Your observations (he played strictly Gundogan position often at River Plate and Benfika though, he is surely capable), but what I feel he has also a good vision and is not afraid of progressive passes. Hard and quite unique skills, very important nowadays. He must also have a great mentality (pressure on Argentina during WC was really huge). At the moment surely not enough goals, but in given position its also a matter of team ability to provide many players into the opposition box.

You re right with Pochettino, but I feel he has quite comfortable position to start. You cant be worse that previous season, during general crazy and chaotic shopping spree they also purchased few great, young talents to work with though. We shall see whats on the end of road for Pochettino, quite interesting marriage.

Fans just don't want to admit that their Football manager fantasies just doesn't work out sometimes. I knew Fernandez was all hype right from the first day I saw him play.

;D fans like to create and attache psychological intentions to others even more so when they arguing their point. It has nothing to do with substantive argument though. Myself, for instance, has never had any fantasies with Enzo other than actually observing his play. How is Enzo only a hype for you and not a very promising player with a potential to be world class player on his position I do not need to understand.

I said the same thing back when they signed him. I thought he was a James Rodriguez World Cup level signing. He had all the markings of a good player that was vastly overrated due to the 6 game tourney. Then you have Boehly, who has no idea what he is doing paying 130 mil. Made me shake me damn head. I think he is a good player but the World Cup tax and boehly were the reason this guy cost 130. To me it’s amazing that Enzo is worth that but Bernardo even at his age is almost half the price when he is thrice the player Enzo is.
