His legs seem to go as badly as our other aging midfielders. Tonight there were times he could barely run

Quality tonight. Played the position by himself with Nico weirdly playing pretty much as a second left winger or striker and put himself about all over the pitch. Not surprised he was shattered towards the end with the shift he put in first half.

For an hour he ran his socks off. Seemed to press better than be has in previous games which was good to see.

There’s a reason we lost control after 40 minutes. Spurs ran by it again and again and he wore 8 on his back.

Pep’s playing him out of spite at this point.

Has been a decent buy at times especially when the team was playing well - but he is not a player that has the quality you can build a midfield around, those days are gone. Thanks Matteo now go and have a nice pay day to end your career.

Eh? Are you sure you didn't get kovacic and Nico mixed up? Kovacic was everywhere for an hour making interceptions and tackles winning back possession constantly then the task of running the entire midfield on his own caught up with him as spurs put fresh legs in there. No idea what position Nico thought he was playing tonight but he barely stepped foot into central midfield all game to help out Kovacic. Nunes was in there more than Nico.

he hates kova very much, doesn’t matter what kova actually does or doesn’t do on the pitch.

i was actually surprised to see kova alone again

What game are you watching. He jogged around looking at lads and then not tracking them.

Almost cost us the game after failing to help Bernardo on his mess up, and then proceeded to just trot. Fuck that guy.

It will be quite telling this summer which one of Nunes or Kovacic gets cut.

They're both not good enough for the club but one actually gives a shit about the club and the other one couldn't care less!
Which one is which l. I cant tell anyone

General consensus seems to be that he had a very good game, I think you're very much the outlier here with an awful interpretation of the game thats just unfolded. The fact you're saying "fuck that guy" does suggest to me the poster suggesting you have some kind of personal vendetta towards kovacic is accurate. One of the most bizarre posts of the night.

It’s strange. Because his weaknesses - dribbling into dead ends and jumping into the press - are also arguably his best attributes.

A few times last night he won the ball with a good challenge and then drove into the space which got us out of danger and onto the attack.

He just needs to control when to run (into space, not players!!) and when not to jump into the press/a tackle.

He’s an 8, though, so not sure why he was the chosen 6 last night with Nico further up but I’m sure there was a reason. Maybe Nico plays it quicker to the wingers?

Either way; overall played well I thought.

Kova comes on to shut down shop but we become wide open defensively.. Who could have foreseen that?

I understood Nico's substitution but seriously you could & should trust Nico O'Reilly ahead of him at this point!

Watch that goal out of nothing again.. where's our DM & midfield pressing?!?!?!?
