Looking at the latest table we're 8 points behind Everton who are 6th.

Two ways to look at this though if we'd played as we would expect we would be right in there, the other being if this season finishes as we hope do we still have a slight chance of Europe?

If Ireland stays consistent and Robinho fit, we do not play top 4 side until February, can this be our turning point?.

Its stringing 3-4 wins together thats our problem.the games we had/have over xmas are/were very winnable games. If we did that then our season would take a very different shape

The fact is we have struggled against each and every team prepared to close down and fight. We have been weak and bullied far far to easily by all and sundry this season. Any idiot of a manager knows (which may say something about Phill Brown) that if you leave space for City to play they will murder you. But can you see Allerdyce allowing Blackburn to play like Hull or Arsanal or Portsmouth on Sunday?? No chance. They will fight, batter, bully, kick and do whatever to ensure the points are theirs. So I'm sorry to be the messenger of doom but we will lose far more than we will win and we could still be in bother come April-May. I sincerely hope this is not the case, but unless and untill the management introduce some spine and good old-fashioned backbone into this team we will continue to 'flatter to decieve'. Still whatever happens on Sunday, we do have the window to look forward to but we really need some players through the team who can and will turn up and scrap. Marry them to the obvious flair and talent we have and we may be onto something, but again I say we need to learn how to scrap for points or others will take them off us.

fully agree. we're too easily outbattled, but rarely outplayed.

Agreed.

We've scored more than anyone else at home, and are a bit unlucky not to have more points from these home games, but the squad is totally unbalanced. 11 technically good players don't make a winning team. This is what the Hughes Out brigade ignore. They think we're under-performing, because we've got good players, whereas the truth of it is the mix is wrong......otherwise Ossie Ardiles would have won the League with Spurs

We need to trade one of the attacking midfielders for a player with an all-round game.

Robinho, and SWP signings tipped us over the edge, and the loss of Michael Johnson hasn't helped
