82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Give him a loan move to the Championship or a lower Prem club under the condition of having to play in midfield.

There's talent there but he's not strong enough to be a PL defender and he's not at our level right now.

He might make an appearance in the FA Cup maybe but I’ve noticed he’s not even been in the squad recently so is he injured? Cant see any other reason pep would leave him out as he loves playing him when he gets the chance

He's not injured, as he was in the training photos this week. He was just the one to make way as we had an almost fully fit squad.

we can debate the quality of player we need but a reserve right back is needed this summer. Lewis needs to move on

Wouldn't be surprised if he got 15 mins against Burnley because I expect him to start vs Southampton.

I always thought of him as Pep's new Jordi Alba, unfortunately it seems like he neglected his physical conditioning like speed and strength training, that's what separates the likes of Bernie, he knows he is smaller so he has to be twice as strong and aggressive as the average player.
That side of it he should have been fine, kickboxing etc with his dad, but for some reason he doesn't seem to have got stronger ?

Not sure Nunes should be run into the ground tbh. Lewis can cope with 15 mins against Burnley and then starting against Southampton.

Can't see Lewis coming in at this stage - I'd think it more likely that Stones or Ake come in and Kush shifts over for a game if need be.

However I kind of expect Nunes to play every remaining game, that isnt that many left now.

Nunes definitely deserves a break.
If Lewis is Pep's preferred deputy, to warrant selection against Southampton, he needs at least 15 minutes v Burnley.
Personally, I'd not select him, as Southampton's forwards against Arsenal looked powerful and fearless. I suspect it will be a tough, physical battle that won't suit Rico...

Ah, of course. Sorry, I just presume Stones is injured all the time these days. Forgot he was back.
