87 | James McAtee - 2024/25

He's far too good to sit down and watch an 83 year old Gundogan shuffle around the pitch for ninety minutes but here we are.

He's got a good relationship with the club and if the new owner is looking to invest in the team then he'd be a good start point for them.

Saying this like I want anything other than for him to be given chances here.
Totally agree but sadly he will leave and I still think he will get a far better move than Sheffield, I think clubs in the PL will be more than happy to take him.

It's not easy for me to understand that absolutely everybody on here can see that he won't hang around, and that by contrast either Pep won't see it or isn't bothered. He's not Palmer level, but he's too good to be satisfied with the crumbs he's been getting. If Pep goes at the end of this season we'll be left with a midfield of Gundo, Kova, and Kev. Not exactly the future there, is it?

This is an afterthought, but I wonder whether Grealish's future with us won't involve moving into midfield. I think it could turn out to be his natural position. I've never been entirely convinced by him as a winger. And wingers are now something that we're not lacking.

Pep’s handled him all wrong.

He went on loan. He got Premier League experience. He came back. Said he’d fight for his place. He had a full pre season and did well during it. Played well in the CS. Pep lauds him in interviews.

And he’s played ONE MINUTE of PL football all season. One minute. In a team that’s been fucked and crying out for control and creativity - the two things he excels in.

Poor.

If Pep really doesn’t rate him then that’s fair enough (even though he couldn’t be any worse than a few of our players have been this season) but to keep him around and not play him is just a complete waste of his time.
