spoken by someone who is fit? able? and never been reliant on other people?
I was like you not so long ago and in a split 2nd a boy racer rammed me off the road and here i am.It could happen to anyone of us and it is in everyones interest to get it right.every government tries to sort it out but it is so bloody complicated for all the reasons that have been expressed in this discussion.everyone who needs help have their own specific needs and so no one system is ever going to work for everyone. The myth of if you need help you will get it is exactly that,a myth.

I see three ?'s by the way im not up for a row if that is where you are going!

If you have been in a car accident then surely you can claim compensation from either insurance companies? And if you could not work again because of the accident the compensation would be quite significant, or have I missed something?

He had no insurance and mine didnt pay up,i had to leave it to others to sort it out as i was in intensive care for 10 days and rehab for months and it was the least of my worries to be honest, maybe someone fucked up on my behalf but too much time had gone by for me to re-visit it

It does not matter if he had know insurance they have a fund for this type of thing , why did yours not pay out? Sounds a bit odd

I honestly cant tell you anymore about it except to tell you i did not get any kind of pay out, whether that was the right or wrong thing i couldnt have a go at the person who was in charge of it because all of my friends and family gave up a lot to look after me

In that case I would suggest you get yourself a very good solicitor

The problem with society now is that we have all become used to being entitled to stuff we didn't get before. So when it is offered, human nature dictates that we take it. I know of one person who has been helped by a well meaning doctor to get benefits they are not entitled to. This person is not as ill as the welfare think, and the doctor is perfectly aware, yet they get all sorts of help including a free car. The persons attitude is that the benefits were offered and so they should be accepted. This happens all the time. Look at the issue of blue badges, they are constantly abused and this takes money away from those who truly need it and help fuel the press with all the scroungers stories

This government are making wide ranging in cuts to our health service and welfare state, next will be education, all because with their millions stashed away in off shore accounts, they can afford to send their children to private schools, have private healthcare and will never need to avail of benefit, targeting the poor and rewarding the wealthy is NOT the way a civilised society should be governed.

That's a bit simplistic mate, not all Tory MP's are wealthy and not all Labour MP's are working class

Thanks for that pointless post

How does abusing blue badges take money away from people who truly need it?

It was just an example of abuse of the system. When my Dad was ill with cancer, there were loads of times he couldn't park near the hospital because the blue badge spaces were full. I used to take him and my Mum and drop them off by the door and then wait. I stayed with the car and I watched all the people coming and going. I challenged several people who didn't appear to be ill and several of them admitted they had "borrowed" it (nearly got my head kicked in by one feller who obviously didn't need it)
