Great performance. The direct route suits him, and offers a very different option against teams who want to use the high press to stop us building from the back. To do it well, you have to have someone running off the target man, and that's precisely what we had yesterday. With Nico, we also had control with the short game, so it was very hard for Newcastle to know what to do, and they failed. My pal's an NUFC fan, and a coach, and he said that the back four were all over the place because they didn't know where to position themselves because of the variety in our attacking play.

Only criticism I have yesterday is why as soon as Haaland got injured why didn’t we pull him off as he shouldn’t have been allowed to carry on. Our medical guy should have been all over that .

I thought it was Norwegan shthousery in action, just giving the Madrid scouts some hope.

So he's our third captain now? Behind Kev and Dias?

I quite like it. And I quite like the fact that Pep's the one that picked him to be captain.

Always been a big advocate of the manager picking the captain, I hope to see Erling, Rodri and Ruben wearing it a lot over the next ten years. I don't feel like the players are able to be completely impartial if asked to vote.

Looks to me like meniscal irritation. Wouldn't be surprised if he’s out for a couple of weeks.
He recovered and walked off without any bother and the post match photo of him stuffing his cakehole was quite reassuring as well, but the knee collapse was horribly reminiscent of other ACL injuries I've seen. Like I said above, I won't be doubt free until I see him run out at the Bernabeu.......

Whilst he’ll be disappointed not to be on the scoresheet, he actually had an impressive game and played unselfishly as the captain. I’m sure he and Marmoush will complement each other as they build an understanding of each other’s game. PL defences, be scared!

Some knee hyper extension depends on how long and how much backwards movement occurred I suppose.

You often get a tear in the ligament if the knee joint doesn't move back into place quickly enough.

It appears innocuous but can put you out of action for over a year if its an ACL or bad PCL tear that needs operating on.

PCL's are more common with landing poorly after jumping.

I have no idea if he will make it Madrid , I would rest him if its a minor sprain at worst which I hope it is or better still a minor buckle with no ligament or muscle strain.

Let's hope he is training tomorrow, if not then there is probably an issue.

Unfortunately. He will not be able to score more goals than the penalty merchant Salah, especially if he is injured (and we hope he is not and that he will play all the EPL games) Even his record of 36 goals in a season is in danger, because Salah is scoring at an abnormal rate and continuously, and there are still many games left in the season.

He will need to score 14 in their last 13 games. They’ll have ease off on the league once the latter stages of the champions league starts and he will ease off himself at the end of the season as too not get injured and mess up his big money free transfer.

Penalty merchant? Really? He’s shit hot and is carrying them to the title. He’s also in his 30’s whilst Erling is 24.
