9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

If this carry’s on I’ll be absolutely astounded if he is still here for next season . These tactics are not working and yet we carry on with them I mean wtf is going on .

Today was the first time he didn't stay to clap the fans after the game. Often, he could be the only one that bothered. Really sad that it now looks like it's really affecting him. Hopefully we can start playing to his strength sooner rather than later.

He doesn't want to be here and he doesn't seem to care he knows he's done enough for his reputation stay intact

More concerned about chatting to players than making an effort

Thought he'd be grabbing this team by the scruff of the neck and pulling us through but I misjudged his mentality

Is the correct answer

No-one could afford him.. he'll be here for a while yet. He needs a support/rotation option for sure. Only goalscorer in the club.. it's fucking braindead squad management.

Was just studying the figures for the top ten goal scorers in the league so far. Ok, Salah's figures are stupid — he's having the season of his life just when he needs to. It's not just the goals — he's on eleven assists. Set him aside.
But here's the thing: of the top ten goalscorers — and Erling is still second, mainly on the strength of what he scored in the first couple of months of the season — Erling has one assist. Everyone else apart from Chris Wood has more, with one exception who has the same number. Palmer's got six assists. What this tells me is not that Erling is underperforming in this area. It tells me that he simply has no-one else to pass to, and there is no-one else getting into the box to take the heat off him. It really was crazy to let Alvarez and Palmer go and not replace them with anything vaguely resembling an attacker who would be playing off Erling's shoulder. Who would be getting in and around the box to leave defenders in two minds. They're not in two minds. They can double up on him, or even treble up on him.

Do you think Pep and the rest of the coaching staff thought Foden would be that player this season?

I agree it was crazy to let Alvarez go. As prolific has Palmer has been, he wouldn’t have been the same player here as he’d not have been given the chance. He probably should have been given how direct and confident in himself as he was when he did play for us.
