You're offering a narrative that we've been playing well recently and today was somehow drastically different because of haalands inclusion. That's not remotely true, today in rhe main wasn't any different to those games in our approach.
Bluemoon geniuses said Southampton deserve to be up in the table ,are very good team back when we played them in October?
Those fans simply have blue specs on and can see no fault in team.
The team they thought should be up in the table actually turned out to be worst in all era or second worst

The fans that can find a good side in Southampton Can do or say anything

This has nothing to do with Haaland, Pep unilaterally destroyed the setup from the previous 5 games, the man benched O'Reilly and Nunes who provided width, verticality and were a constant threat in attack, to add to that he played Doku who tried to break through the defense. Now there is nothing from that because Lewis and Foden are playing, two of the slowest players on the planet and with poor decision management
You're defending Haaland by bringing up Pep's setup from the previous five games in which Haaland didn't even play... Could you make it make sense?

Are you assuming that if we had played with the previous setup with Haaland, he would have hit the ground running? Rather than the fact that it's possible the team played better and was getting results because Haaland was not playing?

He’s just not a fit for this system at all. He can’t use his pace and doesn’t use his strength because he’s flat footed and probably bored of waiting for a ball to come in.

Nobody is on the same wavelength as those two wingers we have so when they do come on they may get the ball forward a bit more swiftly but when aimless, miss hit balls come into the box it’s difficult to read.

We need to change our style of play or sell him for me. Such a waste.

But for how much? Regardless of chances created for him, he was predictable and handled with relative ease today. Its a times like this, that you realise (when fit), how good Sergio was.

He was mate and it has happened far too often this season (and some of last) and he has to shoulder his portion of the blame like everyone else this season, but if we get the ball forward faster we have seen what he can do. In the right setup he can be as predictable as he wants because they can’t stop him.

If we are intent to stick with this brand of football then I’d be asking £150/200 for him and we’ll get it. If he has another season like this he’ll be agitating for a move anyway and then his value may drop.

Sergio was light years ahead of him.

I’m actually at the stage now where I don’t get excited seeing his name on the team sheet. He’s not going to change a game, very unlikely to get stuck in and work his arse off for the team. Defenders are now just taking him out of the game completely and we don’t have the players to find him. It just seems like a waste having him on the pitch unless we change the way we play, because it’s just not working atm, and hasn’t really for most of the season.

Just doesn’t fit the system put him in that PSG side and he wins the Ballon D’Or comfortably

He was fucking nuts signing that 9 year deal to play under Pep

Pep needs to change his style to suit Haaland if not pep or Haaland needs to go

We are nowhere as dynamic as PSG who don’t mind losing the ball. There are some certain players who like to keep the ball for 6 seconds to pass it back or make a useless turn. Those need to go. Also PSG doesn’t play with a real striker but only with wingers so they interchange during the game. pep doesn’t give his players that much freedom. Control and static gameplay. Haaland will never fulfill his potential under Pep. In Dortmund he was a completely player

Wwll Pep leaves in 2 years. So i guess hed have at least 7 years with other managers

when we play to his strengths he scores loads of goals but we never do any more so he must really be pissed off aswell . We need to build the team round him starting next season .

Would swap him for Isak in a heartbeat for this current team. Only way Haaland can flourish under a pep system is if he has a chance creating machine behind him aka Prime KDB (as proven) or Wirtz, with the likes of Foden or Gibbs white playing as CAM next season, there’s no way we get 88-95 points next season with Haaland in the team. I remember thinking we have the potential best player in the world in Haaland, now he’s probably not ever going to be in the top 10 again. Once again, Haaland playing with a Wirtz or Yamal type player would look truly world class again. Without that type of player and Pep as manager, get ready for a lot more 4/10 performances

I don’t really see how you play to his strengths in so many games where teams just sit back. Balls through for his pace are almost impossible. Yes yesterday the tactics were appalling but we still put shitloads of crosses in eventually. As a striker who naturally wants to play on the shoulder to use his pace he must be bored shitless most weeks.

If a player continues to run to the far post, wouldn't it make sense for another player to make his way to the near post? Gundogan and Sterling used to do it.

For such a big unite his aerial ability is poor, his runs to the far post are not aggressive enough for me, almost an afterthought.

He is a player that likes to get in behind defenders and play off their shoulder but in most games that is not going to happen and that applies to most elite sides, so he has to adapt and improve his general game, he is still young and has so much to improve on.

He like 99% of his teammates has regressed this season.

Agree. We are much more direct and dynamic without him

The fact is teams have worked out how to stop him. Sit deep and deprive him of any space.
The worst team in the league did it yesterday.
Why would any manager advocate pushing up leaving space if that’s what he thrives on.
PSG, Barca, Madrid, Liverpool are great examples of the modern front 3.
Quick, mobile, skillful and hard working.
Top European teams don’t have strikers like Haaland.

Wasting his time and talent playing for us nowadays in the safety 1st culture we now have. Made plenty of runs yesterday and the ball was not released to him and was passed sideways instead.
Haaland also got on the back post twice to head some over hit crosses back across the box. Also set up Nico for a good chance which was ballsed up.
