But the truth is, we don't service or feed him enough because of the style Pep likes to play with the wingers
I have this thing that when you get to the byline, having a tall 6ft striker is useless because they like to hit the back posts. Haaland does this and it reduces his chances when going to the byline,

We need to swing in more and more crosses from out wide, level with the box is about right and because Haaland is hugging the back post he's got both options of going forward or holding the space. Pep hates players crossing the ball because he thinks it's offering a 50/50 chance of losing it and wants his players holding on to the ball or find a easy pass.

Pep should go and dig out some of Niall Quinn's videos on how we used to service him at the back post with Nicky Summerbee crossing

I know the Nicky Summerbee and Niall Quinn one is tongue in cheek, but having Marmoush or Semenyo playing the David White role to Erling's Quinn could be a plan. I mean, Peter Reid's football could be considered a blueprint for pep-ball after all ;-)

I wonder if Pep’s celebration for Marmoush’s goal was anything to do with this?

 
Hypothetically, If marmoush is kept in the team and performs well, he’s scoring goals, city are consistently winning etc, it will be difficult for pep to manage the situation. Keeping the worlds best striker on the bench is only going to attract media attention and will surely disgruntle a player who is used to being top dog. I love haaland but at this moment, (even though it’s early doors), the false 9-esque setup is what we need to shake things up. What’s your thoughts guys?

That he was rested for a home game v the worst team in the league after everyone agreeing he was knackered and needed a rest. No other thoughts needed.

Marmoush will be gone in the summer. He is on 300k/week, and he was ignored by Pep in the first 6-7 months . No striker will play much with Haaland in the team.
 
If we hoof to him anything above hip height, he doesn’t retain it. Ever.

But if we hoof to him below hip height, he uses his strength and almost always comes out on top. Wish we’d use it more often. Create passing lanes for it to be done because he’s lethal when he can pin his marker and turn.

I counted 7 similar runs in behind before he scored and I wasn't solely focused on him so may have missed a few, we played him in once before the goal. Completely debunks the idea he doesnt move. Great game tonight, some great big man centre forward play despite the support around him being largely crap. Definitely should have scored with the header, did everything right just slightly misdirected it. Could have had a few more if some of his teammates had squared it.

Could of score a few more tries to get involved more to link up players hope he is back now and go on get a goal or two at spurs

Do wonder given his connection there if he will play for Leeds one day. Obviously towards the end of his career but he clearly holds them very close to his heart.

Sick to death of him. Would suit Madrid perfectly with his ego. He is so limited as a footballer he makes us weaker.

I know people will say but he scores etc etc. city are a better side without him. I will die on that hill
