9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

One nan team and masking over a poor squad without him we’d be worse than last season . Time for pep to earn his money .

If he’s the only player who’s going to score any goals for us (which is absolutely fucking ridiculous in itself!) he can’t miss chances like he has been doing.

For £26m a year and nobody else scoring, he needs to work on his 1on1s because he fluffed another last night:

He also skied a shot over the bar from thirteen yards out, centre of goal, under no pressure:

In other recent games; he fluffed a chance with the keeper 20 yards off his line and then missed a point blank chance that he hit with no finesse straight at the keeper at Newcastle, he had a penalty saved against Liverpool, he missed two near post free headers from corners against Bournemouth, missed a sitter at Villarreal, fluffed a 1on1 with the keeper at Villa and he missed two 1on1s with the keeper against Everton,

He has an incredible scoring record this season but he doesn’t half miss some sitters.

We’d probably be bottom half without him, but for £26m a year and nobody else scoring, he pretty much needs to put everything feasibly expectable to be scored, in the net.

I'm not going to deny that those two chances you show were quite good ones for a player of his standard, which he fucked up quite badly, but also that he came on in a situation where he was mega frustrated and expected to deliver. Doing that to any player doesn't usually end well. The whole night was a farce.

This is an insane take.

Not even Messi or ronaldo scored over 90% of their chances.

It’s as much a dig at our other players for never scoring that means Haaland needs to score every chance even though he’s missing sitters.

‘Under no pressure’ doing a LOT of heavy lifting on that second one there tbf
It was an awkwardly bouncing ball and even your own screenshot shows there are four opposition players directly between him and the goal

Can you please stop that rubbish?
No player ever has scored every chance as it's impossible.

The opposite is true:
in this 1 man scoring team we should pray on our knees every single time if Erling scores, as otherwise we're in the shits.
The whole team has to take more responsibility to get the ball in the net. All of them.
We all have seen enough teams who are pushing to score til they do,
but we don't see it now. Not since the intl break.

So don't blame Erling, he's human.
We need more mentally tougher players, characters, who are able to score in the PL (not in GER, FRA or ITA, that's completely different).

We need players who want to win, who fight, who bleed and aren't bullied permanently. We have far too many weak players on board.

We are missing the power of Walker, Kev, Sergio, Julian or Gundo. They knew exactly when to put in a shift, and blimey they did.

Keep cool big Erl, you're Gold.

One man team. Already POTY. A trillion miles ahead of everyone else at the club atm.

Big fan of Haaland but can't help feeling he tends to score decisive goals against teams we should smash.

Feel like Foden / Rodri / Gundogan / Bernardo still offered more game changing moments in the biggest games.

Anyone agree / is that fair? I wouldn't want to call him a flat track bully but maybe I'm just forgetting the huge games that he's really turned the tide for us in.

Phil has helped illustrate the point.

Sadly qualifying with Norway has taken a bit out of him. Understandable but annoying. He was playing like a man on a mission until and during the international break

Proper shame tonight. Lad had a golden chance to smash the record and the rest of the team absolutely did him in. Offered him nothing all game.

The only bloke who could actually create something was sat on the bench until the dying minutes. Soon as he came on, he puts one on a plate.

Talking about Cherki, obviously.

Even bigger shame is he’s missed two on the bounce now, and Igor Thiago’s gaining on him every weekend in the golden boot

Looked off it today. Lethargic, wonder if he poorly as he looked pale on the steam I had as well

Everyone in Manchester looks like they live in a cave at this time of the year.

He is well off it, out of form maybe, and probably more importantly, the team has looked utter gash since coming back from the international break.

He will be back in the next few weeks once the team sorts it's act out.
