9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

I used to captain him in FPL whenever KDB was fit and playing , and bench/sell him whenever KDB gets injured

Lets hope players around him will provide him with real chances, over & over again.

Nonsense we created way more chances for aguero and he never got close to the amount of goals haaland scores every season.

Their conversion rates really aren't as far apart as people make out.

For a player who'd shoot from much more ambitious positions Sergio was a ridiculously good finisher.

We do simply create much higher quality chances for Erling, partly because he hardly touches the ball outside the penalty area and rarely has to beat a man.

Let's be honest if haaland have a season with a 14%/11% ratio he would get slaughtered.

He's not judge the same for some reason.

Possibly but that's largely because I imagine the feeling is he should get around 20% usually tapping in inside the box. Not many 25 yarders in there is there.

He's had 4 seasons here, 2 he's outperformed his xg, 2 he's underperformed it.

It's just not statistically true to say Haaland scores chances he shouldn't season after season.

Which kinda goes back to my original point that he's a pretty unerring finisher of chances he should score. Maybe the most reliable ever.

But he doesn't really suffer from a lack of service and I'm not sure we can artificially manufacture space in behind for such a static player. Unless a team actively chooses us to press us we don't have the fluidity to bait them into it like PSG ironically because our center forward is so static.

Curious to see what Maresca does with it.

Florentino's rival in the Real Madrid presidential election said he will announce his major signing tonight if he becomes president. I have a feeling it might be Haaland, because who else could it be?

Double swoop for Savinho and Kalvin Phillips.
I don't think hes trying to lose on purpose...

It could be Olise or someone from Barca, but if he comes out and promise Lautaro Martinez or something against the guy who brought everyone from Figo to Mbappe would be a joke.

We need to sue these cunts into oblivion

Whilst they are a cunty club, I think this tweet is taking what he said and both exaggerating it and taking another bit completely out of context.

What he said was still out of order and disrespectful to City though. He said he will sign Haaland if elected as he has a release clause and he wants to join them (tbf it was reported at the time he signed the contract extension that he has a release clause where the fee ratchets down with each year or something like that). And the “signed documents” the tweet mentions are nothing to do with an agreed transfer, it was a document to put in writing that he’ll pay all 100,000 memberships if he doesn’t deliver this, or something to that effect.

Obviously a lot of election bollocks, they always say shit like this, but just wanted to point out that the tweet is twisting it a bit, presumably for interactions.

I’m pretty sure it was confirmed the 9 year contract has no release clauses. He would’ve just signed a 6 year deal with the same conditions otherwise.

Not to mention, Haaland joining Madrid is literally impossible as long as Mbappe is there. Financially and logically, it is not viable. They’ve signed all these players for free (all with large signing on bonuses & agent fees) and they have Vini Jr (who wants a more lucrative contract), Bellingham, Mbappe, TAA all on humongous salaries. FFP would destroy them.

Pitch matters wise, Mbappe cannot play as a winger anymore and wants to be the main man. Haaland, although he has a smaller ego, will also want to be main man for his brand. Neither can market themselves as superstars if they’re always in the other’s limelight.
Even when they signed Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, the latter two were always in Ronaldo’s shadow until he left.

Romano reported when he signed the contract last year that the release clause doesn't kick in until 2029, and Ornstein said there was no release clause at all.

Either way, he's talking absolute made-up bollocks.

Called it.

I think Riquelme plans to move Vinicius to make room for Haaland, financially and on the pitch. There might be a clause for Real Madrid, like Schlotterbeck's at Dortmund.

Its still very hard to see Riquelme win regardless. Florentino knows all the doors and has all the keys. The man is incredibly adept at power brokering.
