Martine Girault - Revival (1995)
Martine Girault - Revival (1995)
1983 but part of 89/90 for me ..... and years later on GTA.
Don't recall ever seeing this video before either
I was working shifts in 83 and used to put stuff onto personal cassette to keep awake on nights. Naafiysh was on a Streetsounds Electro compilation and I found it pretty hypnotic at 3.00 am. It sounded different even back then but I wouldn't have guessed we'd still be talking 40 years later. Bought the follow up "we're rockin the planet" without hearing it. Not a patch unfortunately. The Streetsounds lp was on ebay this morning for £121! Don't think it will shift at that but will watch as I still have my copy. Can remember buying the original 12" us import release of Al Naafiysh back in 83
Still got it now. A timeless classic.
Never seen that vid before either..I did notice it was 40p to travel on the tube in London back then...times change!
Is it in good/Mint condition tho ..?I was working shifts in 83 and used to put stuff onto personal cassette to keep awake on nights. I'd grade it at vg+ as I looked after it but Streetsounds mastering wasn't the best anyway. There are others at £60 mark so maybe electro is back in vogue? Is it in good/Mint condition tho ..?
I have many rare records ,but for example Al Naayfish was played to death for about 10 years after its release, prob rare now.. but my copy worth Fuck all.
I never heard the follow up ..loads of artists back in the day just had the one big moment....
I can remember seeing a track come straight into the US import dance chart straight at No.1...it was Dr Beat by MSM..I thought that sounds good,it must be good..!!
It was shit and I sold it same day....
Another great 1983 release was Bad Times by Captain Rapp ..with the thumping bass line....another classic from the era..still play it today
In fact it's more relevant than ever today....
