90's Dance & Old Skool Classics

Folks. My daughter is getting into house and techno (intrigued by the decks gathering dust in the corner of the house).

Anyway, she asked me to put a Spotify list together of all my favourites (heavily influenced by Hippos, Sunset 102 and Uni clubbing back in the day)

In doing so I discovered you can do basic mixing on Spotify premium, which is a bonus!!

Thought I’d share it here as this thread has definitely reminded me of a few. Over 17 hours of mostly classics, mostly 90’s with the odd random favourite thrown in. Don’t know if you need Spotify premium to hear the mix, but you can certainly access the songs if not.

Yeah, just giving me a 15 sec preview of each track then moving on, as a non-Spotify member.
Tracklist looks good though mate.

And if your daughters gets through 17 hours of it, she’s a definite proper raver!

That’s me sorted for today’s listening thanks mate :)

It’s one of life’s greatest feelings when your yute gets into the same tunes you’ve loved all your life, pure class.
 
When I was between the age of about 9 to 13 in the early to mid 90s, this was the stuff I was listening to… breakbeat and hardcore so might be a bit fast for some people but I was only a nipper so had all the energy in the world to dance around my bedroom to this stuff back then.

Slipmatt 1 hour mix of tunes from 89.

One of the best years I reckon. Early rave sounds, some acid, groovy tracks, some hip house and some hard but not too hard and just pure energy throughout and way before the chipmunk vocals, cheesy samples and the over-use of the same drum breaks.

Lil Louis, Landlord, Adamski, Digital Vamp and the rest all here :-)
