9th November 1977 v Luton @ the Swamp

Yep up at the back of the Stretford End, I can remember a small mob of rags just the other side of the players halfway tunnel but the vanished after the game.

Possibly Tuearts last game before he left us too?

thats another thing i remember too about a small rag mob,a chant went up " we know where you're hiding "

On the Stretford End we were chanting : -
"2 nil down, 3-2 up, now we're going to win the cup" after taking the lead.
Plenty of magic marker graffiti too !

Went to Ipswich away on the Saturday before or after(first away game on Finglands). Couldn't afford to go to OT. Listened to it on the radio at Wilbraham High youth club. The reds were taking the piss when we were 2 nil down.
Anyone remember who knocked us out?
Had completely forgotten about this one ! Do remember we also beat(John Bond's) Norwich 6:1 at 'neutral 'Stamford Bridge in a League Cup 2nd replay. That was no doubt very convenient for both sets of fans!
Strange idea, was it because extra time in the initial replay would give unfair advantage to the home side (as they had more minutes on their own patch to score ???.)
Image the moaning from Klopp if they did that now!.
Did we not go out to Arsenal at Highbury that season thanks to a pretty 'dodgy penalty'??

Me and my mates Les Owen, Ray Kennedy and Tony Whelan were there in the Stretford End.

I doubt if Tony still tells people he was a City fan and stood on the Kippax with his parka on full of City badges!

Yep, I was there as a young lad. Don't remember much about it (it was 45 years ago) other than a Luton punk who had his hair coloured orange, white and blue. It's strange the things that remain in your memory all your life.

Went to OT for an RL test match in the early nineties, achieved a life's times ambition when I pissed on the Stretford End too crowded to get out to toilets.

I was at that game with a couple of mates. Luton had some excellent players, like Ricky Hill and Brian Stein, and played us off the park in the first half. Did the match go into extra time? After the final whistle we managed to wangle our way into the bar at the nearby Stretford Leisure Centre for a celebratory drink or three.

I only vaguely remember this.
Does anyone remember going to this ?

City win 3-2 at Old Trafford – but not against Manchester United. Having drawn twice with Luton Town in the League Cup third round – 1-1 at Kenilworth Road and 0-0 in the replay at Maine Road – a neutral venue was arranged, though being held in Manchester, City had something of an advantage! It was worth the admission just to see City fans in the Stretford End, and the Blues progressed to the next round thanks to goals from Peter Barnes, Mike Channon and Brian Kidd in front of a gate of 13,,043.
Yep me and my late brother rammyblues went to this game. Seem to remember both of the Futcher brothers played in this. It was surreal standing behing the goal in the Stretford end. I have very limited recollection of the match though outside of Paul and Ron Futcher played.
