A ban on the word ****

The "C" word was used several times by Chaucer when he wrote Canterbury Tales in 1392.
It's a word I use sparingly for a select number of people who have "done me wrong".

A venerable old word. You find it in Chaucer. The Wife of Bath's Tale, where she effectively promises her ageing husband, “ What are you bothering me for now, you old fool? You shall have **** aplenty at eventide”.
But I agree it should be used sparingly, and with sincerity.

I've just seen above that Fiftyyearsandcounting, who like myself uses a compound user name, sort of beat me to it. But I give the precise reference, for anyone who cares to look it up.
And by the way, Hamlet, in a bawdy exchange with Ophelia, says “Why, that's a fair thought to lie between maid's legs!”. When she replies, “What is, my lord?” he replies “Nothing.” Supposedly, it was a code word for… ****, for the Elizabethans.

(Amazing the way stuff that you studied for 'O' level stays with you).

When I see somebody driving past me in an expensive car, I look at them and shout...."****!" (only becuse I'm jealous of the expensive car they've got)

The c word. Its not actually a nice word and is becoming boring to read all the time. **** this **** that. Terry Christian is a ****, gniac, posts with just the word "****".

It's a special word and should be saved for special occasions.

Maybe it could be replaced with the word gary neville.
I was getting the logic of what you were saying but then you ruined it and mentioned Terry Christian and he is a real fucking ****. If you look up **** in the dictionary it says Terry Christian
