I am starting to feel less nervous. Let's hope that isn't premature.

Spent most of the game on a flight. Can someone fill me in....good game? Did they play well. Anything notable? Details please?

we played well in patches,a stupid mistake for their goal, and a ref who's just escaped from a mental hospital did us no favours, but a win is a win is a win

Nice one. Cheers Paddy.

Can somebody give me a match report that is representative of the match, rather than the bollocks I am bound to read in the Glasgow press in the morning?

Ref was completly incompetant, but i would say without bias for both sides. They should have had a penalty at 1-0 but we also should have had 2 given.

Played well in patches without really creating much, and should have been all over at 2-0 but this is City, and we know what happens next lol.

Very good Debut by both players, team looked more solid but then again is should with 4-5-1 position, defence and hart had a few jitetry moments but they didnt create much tbh.

considering 2 debutants, plus Bridge and Robinho flying back, a very good 3 points imho.

No probs. Nice one Herts. Cheers. My sis was bombarding me with texts I couldn't get cause I was flying over our place at the time (did anyone wave?) but she said the ref was a tosser too. Who was it?

ooooo, they should have scored when duff passed it accross hart, cleared by ?onouha?

Bridge, so he saved a goal and conceded one ;-).
poor ref tonight aswell, he was young though, bellemy should have had a free kick, penelty... he gave a throw in instead of a corner? lol

Thank god for mobile internet. Walking back towards ashburys, thought it was scrappy, but 3 points are 3 points. De Jong was solid, Bellamy was good and took his goal well. Robinho was isolated for a lot of the game. And the Geordies had the cheek to call our support shit with half their allocation unsold.

They were attempting suicidal passes in the first half as a result of us pressing them all over the pitch. In the second half, some of our midfielders tired and they pushed two up front (Owen had gone off injured), so the game became more stretched and rather open in the last quarter of the game. This enabled Robinho and Bellamy to exploit the spaces, but there were few genuine goal attempts for either team. Both sets of supporters will bemoan the referee's performance and both managers will bemoan the quality of the final ball in the box.

A second-straight solid effort gutting out a close win -- though it wouldn't have been close if not for Bridge's awful giveaway that gifted an otherwise impotent Newcastle attack a surprise goal. But winning by just one goal again is a sign of progress and the kind of toughness I was hoping Hughes would inspire in his side. The kind of steel that's been notably absent up until recently.

Make no mistake that Newcastle are dire right now with their deficiencies and injuries, but City showed again it could win when not firing on all cylinders. That hadn't happened very often this season until the last two weeks.

The referee seems intent on ignoring all penalty claims, which did benefit City on a couple of occasions.

Nothing to get excited about, apart from our goals 1st Rob to SWP, 2nd someone to Bellamy just outside the area. " excellent goals" everything else was ok.
