A bit of perspective!

We may not be firing on all guns just yet, but I do seem to recall our erratic start to last season. Plenty of goals for, too many costly goals against. Given also our C/L and cup campaigns, we were always playing catch up on teams who never seemed to have a defeat in sight, yet we did and did so when it really mattered. Seen like that, our start this season has been good with only the one league blip so far.

I think we haven't really got going because we have been hampered by FFP which, ironically, has helped Chelsea more than anyone, and also the World Cup which meant that many of our big players came back late and probably in need of a long rest. That's what happens with a team like ours that has players who feature for major nations expected to go a long way in that competition.

Chelsea and the Scum getting all the headlines, we're just getting on with our business, I think this is perfect for us at the moment. None of the so-called 'expert pundits' seem to have realised that United's fixtures have been as easy as they could possible be and they really ought to be on 21 points now, Chelsea have been good but even their fixtures have been pretty kind and they remain seriously dull to watch.

I totally agree that we're in a pretty solid position atm I'm happy with things we could be a lot worse off than we are because we've been bang average in some games but we will improve as the season progresses Chelsea had a good start that's true but will have much tougher fixtures on the horizon. As long as we don't fall back too far points wise and we keep everyone fit we are in good shape.

We have played 10 games this season, five of them have been agains teams who are in the Champions league!

We have had a freak result against Stoke, if we would have won that game we would be top of the league now!

Oh and before us who was the last team to take a point of Chelsea after being a goal down (never mind having 10 men)!
Only if they've started awarding double points for beating Stoke. We're five points behind Chelsea.

2 when he posted it.

All I can say is we are better placed to deal with injurys than chelsea costa hazard fabregas terry cahill injuries and suspensions to any of them wouls seriously test how good they actually are where as we have already shown last season that we can deal with injuries to vinny fernandiho silva nasri yaya and aguero. As other people have said let the blues get on with winning games while the rags and chelsea lap up all the praise!

Given the fact that we've had some tough fixtures, it has been a good start.

Had we beaten Stoke (how did we not ? 17 shots on goal and then a break from our own corner goes through Hart's legs) then it would have been an excellent start.

If we'd also beaten Chelsea, which I think we would have but for Zaba's sending-off - we were on top at the time - then we'd be top and unbeaten and it would have been an incredible start.

What is pleasing is our away form - 3 wins (all by 2 goal margins) and a draw at Arsenal (with chances late-on to win it) is excellent.
