I know it looks dire, and it’s hard to grasp how quickly we've fallen from grace, but I genuinely believe we have the players to turn this around and maybe even secure 4th place. It might require sacrificing the Champions League to focus on the Premier League and perhaps a strong cup run. Personally, I'd prefer this over finishing mid-table and getting eliminated from the Champions League later. Top 4 should always be a priority.
No top 4 this season , the players are cooked and too many are too prone to injuries that keep them out for weeks and months at a time.
The squad has aged beyond recall and its too small to cope with playing 2 times a week putting on the performances and points tally of the past.
I am not too concerned about missing Chunps League for the first time in 15 years , we will regroup and become a powerhouse again most likely with Peps eventual replacement.
All the players that will leave in the summer and there will be many of them should go with our best wishes they have been superb and lets face it have exceeded expectations by some margin.
The fall off has been fast , dramatic some may say but it was to be expected and we are a soft touch now.
The current players are not capable or dare I say it are unwilling to do what is required to win matches of football anymore on a regular basis.
Little speed , size and strength as CB puts it mean you come up empty and often and that is where we find ourselves.
Even as good as Pep is he knows you only flog a dead horse so often.
Yes we should have revitalized the squad with better quality than we have over the past two seasons and we shall pay the price for that but we will return and we have lots more to look forward to but in the meantime we will suffer many losses with nest Saturday most likely being the next one.
