My mates a liverpool fan and I was talking to him about football earlier on and he was telling me about liverpool supposedly chasing four players.

Who would be the four you picked?

I'd go for: SWP - 4 mill
Lassana diarra 8-10 mill
Gary cahill 15mill
Andy Caroll 20mill (I know its unlikely but he'd be great for them)

edit: I mean I assume he told you about the Kenny clear-out (not a cost-cutting exercise, obviously).

number one priority has to be a striker, or two.

then a winger.

then a central player or a defender.

I can see them getting Cahill plus a good winger, but certainly in terms of strikers, they might have big problems tempting good european players to join right now.

They won't know which manager they are signing for, and there is no european football on the horizon.

If you are Suarez (for example), why plump for them right now? He could probably pick any number of good CL clubs in the summer. The premiership is a big draw, rebuilding a big club is a big draw, but stability and CL football easily trump them.

A new manager, new owners, new CEO, new scouts, new coaches, a new ground, some new fans, a new name and a new shirt.

Apart from that, they are hunky fucking dorey.
