I just watched this, it was brilliant.

What a top guy. He is not really replaceable is he? His family seem so lovely too.

Emotional.

Farewell Txiki,
You bought some and sold a lot
Which is part of the reason
We’ve got what we’ve got.

No right back but a massive keeper
Saves a lot but isn’t a sweeper;
He sang some songs with a disco twirl
Back in the day when he was a girl.

Despite some sixes, we’ve got some Jacks
All of which are Centre Backs,
There’s John Boy and Josh and Ake’s yer man,
Just sell a few in the window of Jan.

Farewell Txiki, you weren’t so bad,
We welcome Hugo to a lifetime of work,
Buy the right ones, lad
And don’t be a berk.

Just watched it and really enjoyed it. Great seeing the relationship Pep, Txiki and Ferran have too. Not always easy working with your mates in such a high pressure industry. Does give you a decent idea as to why he has been a great DOF and will be a tough act to follow.

Not participating in making Txiki a deity, he fucked up big time over his last few transfer windows.
So write off al the good all the success, some fans have no perspective and incapable seeing a bigger picture or getting any joy from football without whining it seems. Me I have had the best 14 years as a City fan and am grateful to every single person that played a part.

Just some random bloke who spent the Sheikhs money to me. I find making heroes out of suits in the boardroom utterly bizarre but each to their own.

Me too. I don't understand this obsession to be ultra critical especially of a bloke who has done his job as brilliantly as he has.

Ridiculous, if he’d been a random bloke spending money we’d have ended up shit like united, or hit and miss like chelsea. It’s how you spend it it’s also how he as DOF ran the football side of the club that brings success, not spending money. Sounds like something some random pundit or other teams supporters say, not somebody supporting City since the takeover would say.

I've supported City since way before the takeover, funny you say we'd have ended up shit like United, this guys first choice targets were Fred Maguire and Sanchez remember.

Yes right, whatever, the trophies all came by accident.Don’t know how long you’ve supported City has to do with it either.

I disagree but I see where you're coming from. No one is making him out to be a hero, just acknowledging a job well done and that's all. However, if there's talk of leaving a thank you message on the pages of MEN then that would be taking it too far, waaaaay too far, fortunately I don't think anyone would be doing that.

It’s not the Sheikh’s money. We spend our own generated revenue. Mansour is just a majority shareholder of the CFG and earns money off those shares, he won’t have spent any of his own money on City for years.

Anyone got a screen recording or an alternative way to view this video, I dont have a City+ Subscription but really want to see the full video.

Just watching it now on Sky. He comes across as an extremely sharp guy (that's a compliment, by the way!). And he seems a well grounded bloke as well. No apparent airs and graces about him. Him and his family seemed to appreciate the fact that they're not exposed to the same media grief they got in Barcelona. He was able to go for quiet walks along the canals without being pestered by fans or the media. I realise, though, thathe gets some grief off a section of our fanbase for some of the transfer windows he oversaw. He's not been perfect, but (in my opinion), he's done a brilliant job while at us. Had to laugh at the old footage of Carrington, specially the room where the press conferences were held. A bit different to the CFA!

Yep it’s a great watch, brings back so many great memories.

I doubt anyone would get all signings 100%.
His success rate is tremendous, and the accompanying policies have been first rate.
Who would have thought a 28 yr old Fernandinho, signed from Ukraine would become a club legend.

I am not sure if you meant it as a joke, but it had me laughing into my porridge this morning.

Deadly serious I was. No time for Txiki at all, he left the squad in a disastrous state. Yes we had success under him but he had unlimited funds and Pep (I appreciate him and Pep are very close and Txiki being his boss helped us keep him so long). I think pretty much anyone would have had success under those circumstances.
