I sometimes think the past has clouded our judgement, you know, when effort over skill ruled our heads.
We want effort, no matter that it is ineffective, we just want to see people running around like headless chickens, putting the effort in, but ultimately, not achieving very much.
We all loved Danny Tiatto and Paul Dickov for their effort and commitment, but, at the end of the day, they were not really that good as footballers. We loved them, though.
Now we have a player like Adebayor on our books, who has consistently scored a goal every other game in the Premier League, with Arsenal and City, and he is not committed enough, he is a lazy twat who doesn't run around enough.
He will never be a hero because at times he looks a bit, you know, not up for the cause, but he scores goals, like Anelka did.
What do people want?
Dickov, or Adebayor?
I know who I'd rather be watching.
