A great insight into a council meeting during lockdown

Last row we had was members of the public turning up to protest planned improvements to a park. They all lived near the park (basically an open field with a path) and didn't want it made nicer in case people used it more.

One guy was obnoxious and was eventually excluded (the PCSOs often attended).

Once the work was done, all the objectors decided the Parish council had been right. (Not the obnoxious guy though.)
 
Imagine electing some of the those people to run your council. This video should see that some of those members should never be selected again.
(if you mean selection by a political party)
They are independents. Just need two nominees (each other). Anybody living or working in the Parish (or living within 3 miles) can stand. Half of Stockport could stand...

Generally at parish level there aren't enough to require an election as the maximum numbers don't come forward.
