I couldn't really give a rat's anyway, if I'm honest. To all intents and purposes, fourth is just as good as third for us this season. I do think about that glut of draws under Mark Hughes earlier in the season and how close we might have come to the title race proper if we hadn't have surrendered second half home leads to the likes of Fulham, Hull and Burnley. Actually there's quite a big difference between finishing 3rd and 4th...

As you have to qualify into the group stages at 4th where as at 3rd you don't.

I've been thinking this for 2 weeks, but have been too scared to even say it. Every time we have got ahead of ourselves we have subsequently fallen over this season. The important point is that we are in complete control of our destiny whereas rags are relying on the results of others. That feeling as a blue is gold!

I stated all the way through the Hughes debarcle we would rue the dropped points.

I always said that we could have won the league this year and when the season finally finishes and when we look back the sense of What if ? will be a very bitter pill to swallow and the feeling of why the hell did anyone want to keep hughes?
will come to the fore.

Good point, I admit. But we can forget about third this year, whether it's a significant improvement or not.
