A mention for Navas

Cant Believe this guy had a home sickness issue, such a lovable character, another one like Milner who will always give 100% being called upon

He is in good form, long may it continue.

Wish The Beast was here though, they seemed to have good understanding.

Just watched the highlights again. Some great goals. Loved the way he let it go through his legs knowing someone was going to follow up for that last goal.

What Navas did to score that goal is exactly what I would hope someone like Reus can bring to the team, and what Navas doesn't really try and do nearly enough. He's quick, he's skillful, can move the ball well and has a terrific shot on him for a skinny lad. He could constantly be running into the box committing players taking shots, even if it's half intended for Dzeko or Aguero to follow up the rebound.

Very nearly nicked one from the free kick late on too. Wasn't a bad effort at all.

just think the lad is more of a highly technical team player , as opposed to an aaron lennon headless chicken type -a quality intelligent player whose first thought is too attack in an intelligent manner by staying wide, stretching teams but seeking to ensure he keeps the ball ..nothing wrong with the simple pass inside if it means ball retention as we build up a head of steam-that after all is the spanish way , not head down and charge for the bye line as we like our wingers to do every time.
when he does press the gas ,even then he looks to ensure his final ball does damage.that is his mandate, dont gamble, like some tricky 13 yr old school boy looking to impress....but make sure i do damage.
as others have said, he is often so fast and ahead of the play there is no point crossing to a non exsistant blue shirt..you cannot expect dzeko to keep up with him on the counter attack every time....but the beauty of his wonderful control of a football at high speed is he can suddenly stop, wrong foot the full back and roll those inch perfect crosses along the turf to the back of the six yard box where , if its anticipated, goals should be flying in.

i expect lampard to cotton onto the rolled cross behind the defence pretty soon.
a fantastic player, love watching him play for City.

Agree to a point and he's clearly not a headless chicken type. At times though he really should use his pace more and I think it's a slight lack of confidence. I'm all for keeping the ball but when he's one on one with 30 yards of space behind the fullback he should use it. A good example of when he should have drove on into the box last night was in the first half when a ball in behind the fullback seen Navas leave the the defenders in his wake and the rest of the City team. He could have got into the box and looked to shoot but he didn't. He is playing well at the moment but if he ever starts being a little more positive he'll be first choice in most games. Few players have his speed or close control to go with it.
