A national holiday Monday if we win?

I work for a very prominent bank dealing with batch scheduling, an extra bank holiday at short notice would be impossible to deal with.
This isn’t going to happen without at least a months notice.

Put's tin hat on.... Believe Italy are likely to triumph here sadly. I have an Italian boss and have worked for an Italian heratige company for over 35 years. If I am correct then the euphoria of the last few weeks is likely to end in some ugly scenes across the country. Let's hope I am completely wrong and we 'bring it home' P S. Like a lot of other posters I think we will break all records for absences regardless on Monday.

Just had an email from the boss telling us we can start an hour and a half late on Monday, but if we want the whole day off we need to take it as a holiday. Fair enough I think.

Bank Holidays are the new Knighthoods....as Brian Potter said about Steve Redgrave, "giving them out to anyone these days"...

Can you just see the reaction if they do it...what about our Olympic Team, what about the Cricket world cup winners, what if our womens team wins the Euros...

Either we´ll never be at work or it will promote constant bitching, why them and why not us.

If we are doing bank holidays....give it for a reason that benefits/honours everyone or noone. Otherwise it just produces a shit storm.

The Knighthood is these days rarely about whos deserved it, its just "whats he/she done" and "why hasnt he/she got one"...Same will apply to this clamour for bank holidays I fear.

If you want to have day off, just go the well trodden path of practicing your sickie voice like weve always done. Had three days off with hangover after we won the league in 2014 Never bothered anyone!

Nah, i'd like England to win though...as generally i like to see the home nations (and Ireland) do well....unlike England fans who seems to relish in NI, Scotland, Wales and RoI losing....but sure.

Also dunno if this has been mentioned...


Italy v England on Sunday.....is basically the Pope v The Queen on the 11th Night ;-) ...... one for the nordies that one

I asked him if we could start 2 hours late if it goes to extra time. No answer yet :-)
