This is different from the obvious stories, at least a little.

N
ewly crowned French champions Marseille are reportedly keen to talk to Manchester City about the availability of Brazilian striker Robinho.
Didier Deschamps’ all conquering south coast outfit look set to strengthen their side this summer after overcoming challenges from the likes of Lyon and Bordeaux to secure their first domestic league title since 1992. Tipped to add key men to their attacking options it appears that Manchester City’s tricky attacker is high on the shopping list at the Stade Velodrome.
Robinho was signed by Manchester City in 2008 for an English record £32.5 million but after 18 months in the Premier League was shipped out on loan to homeland side Santos. Set to return to Eastlands after the World Cup it appears that Roberto Mancini is ready to sever ties with the mercurial talent as he looks to reshape the Citizens squad in his own image. It is believed that City could recoup upwards of £15 million for the 26-year-old should he be sold after FIFA’s showpiece tournament in South Africa.
City are also tipped to sell the likes of Stephen Ireland and Roque Santa Cruz during the close season with several top European stars including Benfica pair Angel di Maria and Oscar Cardozo, Napoli’s Marek Hamsik and Inter Milan’s Mario Balotelli all linked as replacements in recent weeks.

To be fair to Robinho, hes an awesome player to have when you looking for a swap deal!!! :) thanks in advance robbi!!!

I would swap Robinho for Elano

agreed.
imagine how much time and space elano could have on the ball now, while nige and gaz baz do the dirty work in the middle for him.
his eye for a pass is a million miles better than anything we have at the moment and with tevez and ade up top, those killer passes could easily be converted.
although, i wouldn't mind giving robbie and tevez a start up front and seeing how they play off each other. 2 quick witted, quick footed forwards? could make space for a man to play in the hole behind them rather than playing wingers every game?

I must confess I was guilty of thinking similar thoughts, but dismissed them as just a passing inconsequential matter - as if Elano's at GS now and has by his own admission been poor at times this season perhaps he is where he should be, regardless of our own current playing staff and our new manager?

it'll be interesting to see which creative midfielders Manciti might be linked with, as I'm pretty sure he'll not have any financial impediments to obstruct him in his search.

I think he's going to really stamp himself on the team and our systems this next season, and I respect the way he sets himself up and 'goes for it'. He is a savvy guy, not just a savvy manager - in all respects. That's why he's achieved what he has already. As quite a few have said in the past week, it should be an interesting and exciting summer!

Give Robbi to spurs ( he loves champions league football lol ) and we can have Modric, Dawson and Huddlestone in return , a fair swap in dollar value without doubt.

thats the only reason he would possibly go there champs league, maybe aswap deal for a couple of their players, dont reckon they would cough up 15mill..
