A new wave of optimism

I liked the look of Kjaer for Denmark. he looked very solid and reminded me of Colin hendry.

Also liked the look of the argentinian left full - a little on the small side but very good going forward and linking up play. Cant say Burdisso looked good as both centre halfs had a nightmare against Samaras ?

I havent seen Silva playing yet so cant comment - was he injured or banned the other night ?

He looked amazing against North Korea.

TBF my gran would have looked amazing playing against North Korea... Doesn't mean I'd want to see her play for City though.

mexican left back i think looked pretty good salcido (spelling) if we go for the argentine left back i can see the problem of diagonal balls played into his area by the opposition same as last season with bridge and that cost us dearly or even use joleon there he is a quality left back again with plenty of high and good ball ability, maybe try kolo toure right back he did play there for arsenal for a while good on the ball quick enough to get up and down the line and with height. think we could bring in new full backs but with kompany and boetang at centre back it frees people already in the squad to play there just an idea. would like to see a really good attacking center midfield haven't seen enough of silva to say if he can play there. all in all though we have more than enough reason to be optimistic about the new season. i think this is our opportunity to crack the top four even more so than last spurs wont have the money to offer the really big names and liverpool don't have money or champions league to offer so i think if we get to talk to most of our targets we have a good chance to explain why we are a great choice especially when we do get champions league football arsenal nor the rags will compete financially so after than i really think there will be a new order in english football with us and chelsea topping the tree

-- Wed Jun 23, 2010 8:17 pm --

mexican left back i think looked pretty good salcido (spelling) if we go for the argentine left back i can see the problem of diagonal balls played into his area by the opposition same as last season with bridge and that cost us dearly or even use joleon there he is a quality left back again with plenty of high and good ball ability, maybe try kolo toure right back he did play there for arsenal for a while good on the ball quick enough to get up and down the line and with height. think we could bring in new full backs but with kompany and boetang at centre back it frees people already in the squad to play there just an idea. would like to see a really good attacking center midfield haven't seen enough of silva to say if he can play there. all in all though we have more than enough reason to be optimistic about the new season. i think this is our opportunity to crack the top four even more so than last spurs wont have the money to offer the really big names and liverpool don't have money or champions league to offer so i think if we get to talk to most of our targets we have a good chance to explain why we are a great choice especially when we do get champions league football arsenal nor the rags will compete financially so after than i really think there will be a new order in english football with us and chelsea topping the tree (or at least thats how it's going to happen in my head)
